I am in my second relationship where it seems that we are nothing more than roommates anymore. Things were wonderful for about a year and then, suddenly, I went completely numb. I care about the person, but feel nothing on the average day. Is this normal or is this what it's like to fall out of love? Isn't love eventually a choice to stay with someone and not necessarily a constant butterfly feeling?? Do all relationships end up with two people sharing expenses and occasionally having sex??

Open Question: 1st ? Christians, what...

Christians, Did you know that we can choose to put a stop to careless words if we just understand what they project into the lives of those we love? Our words are seeds, which when planted take root in other peoples hearts. Many times we as Christians aren't careful enough in this area. We all have failed because we didn't understand the power we have in our words. Our words are either "blessings or cursings" in the lives of those we come in contact with. This applies to our families, friends , business contacts, everyone! "Blessings" in the Bible were very important to the welfare of the existing genaeration as well as to the future generations. These people knew and respected this power and knew that their words had imapact on the lives of those who heard them. All through the bible you will see Israelites blessing their future generations. Evidence of this powerful tool exists everywhere. This was something that they considered so powerful. They passed down substantial spiritual blessings that blessed future generations. This meant more to them than jus saying kind and loving words. These words "generated" a life style of blessing where this functioned in lives naturally. What is a blessing...see Gen 12: 1-3. In thses verses you will see God blessing Abram.Essentially God says to Abram that , He would bless him, and that this would impact all the families on the earth! So blessings have impact. Blessings literally took place in the Bible. The one doing the blessing knelt before someone he blessed. The one being blessed stood. It was most important for the Godly to implant "Spiritual blessings!" Blessings that blesssed future generations...How did they do this? Their blessings "generated" a life style of blessing where this functioned naturally. How powerful are our spoken words? Do we use them to bless others or curse others? What happens to the person who recives our words ?Is he spiritually enpowered and does the seed of our word prosper him?Now the opposit of "bless" in the word "Curse"Cursing would be imparting Satan's message to another person...when we say things such as "You are stupid, you don't belong, this is what is wrong with you, what are we planting? God message of blessing or Satans message? Blessing someone, would be saying such things as "God loves you, there is hope, God is for you! You have a purpose! When we speak words whose message do we echo? And if we echo the wrong things for too long..what effect does the the words coming from our lips echo down through the generations?Cursing can also involve angry looks, silent treatment, wrath, telling children they are a nuisance! That type of thing.Thank you for answering. I don't expect you to answer every asked question here...just that you share you thoughts..

A lot of people I talk to about this think it is bull. Not my beliefs, I am doing research on this and would like to know how the general population feel about this subject. I have OCD, G.A.D, social anxiety, major depression and multiple personality disorder. I have a very high IQ, not putting my score out there because it isn't relevant. I believe there is a connection between these disorders and intelligence and I will figure this out one day, the actual cause. I believe OCD and there is other research out there contrary to my belief. OCD causes complicated patterns of thinking. With my OCD, I am big with numbers. I don't like the number 6 or anything associated with the n6. For example, take 2 and 3, well 2X3=6, duh. Now take the number 21. 2+1=3, 3X2=6, 7X3=21, 7-3=4,4-2=2,2X3=6. These thoughts constantly go through my head. If I am given a number sequence to solve, I can solve it with no problem at all. Lots of people with these disorders have problems like this that cause them to have to go through complicated patterns like these. Share what your thoughts are on this if you will. There has been one made, but it hasn't been proven yet. They are all theories. No one can find the exact connection to make it an actual fact. My bubble hasn't been busted but thanks for your answer :)Yes I was diagnosed at age 6. I wasn't diagnosed with M.D.D and multiple personality until I was in my teenage years though.I am 26.

I would really appreciate it if anyone could take the time to glance over my answers and tell me their honest thoughts, advice, suggestions, etc...Thanks so much!ESSAY QUESTIONS - 1) Describe a trait or characteristic that has been passed along to you by your family. Tell us why you like or dislike this aspect of yourself.I am impatient. Im the type of person who stands on his toes and stares through the microwave window waiting for his food to cook. I have developed a zero-tolerance policy for waiting. Though patience is known to be a virtue, I can honestly say that impatience is ironically one of my best attributes. When I want something, or when I have a goal to accomplish, i work like mad-man driven by impatience in order to achieve its end. 2) New York City is an essential element of academic and cultural life at NYU. If you could engage in an activity or start a club or service organization at NYU, what would it be and how would you envision it impacting the larger community. If I were to establish an event at NYU, I would definitely organize a drum circle in Washington Square Park. I myself am an avid drummer and passionate musician, and can honestly say from my own personal experience, that music, more than anything else, brings people together. The drum circle will not require its participants to have any musical experience, because rhythm comes naturally to us as humans. I can see this event impacting the larger community, as it will bring foreign students and locals together in a friendly musical arena, helping to establish new friendships and contacts, which are vital in a big competitive city. 3) You have been selected to sing in a talent show. What song would you choose? Why?Without any hesitation or doubt in my mind, i would sing "Carry on my Wayward Son", by Kansas. Yes, On the surface this may seem like the cheesiest, lamest, and dumbest rock song ever. However, the opposite is true. This song contains a deeply profound, and almost biblical story. The lyrics even make reference to the Greek Mythological story of Daedalus and Socratic philosophy. The song tells the account of a confused young man drifting through life, confronted with intellectual problems in his pursuit of ultimate happiness. It offers benevolent and wise advice to "carry on", as in the end, everything will work itself out. I feel that I myself can really relate to the lyrics, to such an extent that I sometimes feel the song is written directly about me! 4) Please tell us what led you to select your anticipated academic program and/or NYU school/college, and what interests you most about your intended discipline. I am completely fascinated with philosophy. I was given an Ayn Rand book on philosophy as a young teen for my birthday. Immediately after thanking my uncle for the present, i plopped the book onto my bedroom shelf where it sat collecting dust for a year! After choosing to read it one day, I noticed my sincere interest for the subject of philosophy. I soon began arguing with my religious grandpa at our Tuesday deli dinners over the existence of god, as I grew foolishly mad over the subject. I spend my time reading and studying the philosophers which interest me, particularly Baruch Spinoza (a shared favorite with my Grandpa and I). I have established, and am currently leading, as president, a new philosophy club at Santa Monica College. At this club, I plan to present guest lecturers (mostly consisting of recent graduate students from nearby schools such as UCLA and USC) and set-up team debates on current philosophical topics. This experience will hopefully expand my philosophical horizon, along with the others in the club.

I am graduating in May 09 (I am 17, turn 18 right before graduation) and really excited about it. I am very goal oriented and I can't wait to begin my future. I am trying to be realistic but at the same time, I don't want to limit myself. So here is the story...I live in MS and in a city that could one day have opportunities in the health field (occupational therapy) that I am interested in, but as of now, the town is still very very small. The thing teens most look forward to do here is go to WAL-MART! It is a suburb close to Memphis, TN but I don't think I would ever want to live or work there. I have seen the negatives from my dad working there. Well, my grandmother lives in a city right outside of Dallas, TX. I go there as often as I can. I love the city life and I love the atmosphere. I also miss my grandma a lot. Because the out of state university costs, I plan to move there and go to a community college for the first two years to defer those costs. This seems the most logical and economical way to do this. My grandmother owns many rent homes and has offered one for me to live in while I am there. She is a very very generous woman and I am very thankful for that. So that sounds like it would all work out. Of course I would get a job and help out on the costs, but she has pretty much said that I wouldn't have any living expenses. (She is paying for my brother's college here in MS)But here is the twist! I have a boyfriend...who is 20. He is from Mexico, so he isn't tied down anywhere. I could really see us getting serious and I don't want to sound cliche but love can make people sometimes. He has said that he wants to move where I move, not to mention, he has family living in the same city already. (he doesn't speak to them much though) I have mentioned this lightly to my grandmother, but I know she wants me to focus on my school FIRST and I know she doesn't want him moving in with me, especially under the house that she is providing for me. Not only that, I could never ever misuse my grandmother like that, I would feel horrible. I know that would be so easy if she did let him, and he would pay his part of the rent, but he wouldn't have to pay for a completely different apt. or something by himself. So that is where I start thinking, what if I move in with him somewhere? I mean, as of right now, I have 2 years of money saved up, so that could help me out until I find a job, which my grandmother has also said that she would help me out with. (she owns a business) I would be willing to pay my part of rent and all expenses. I just don't want my "love logic" to overpower my common sense and I end up doing something totally stupid.I guess if I wanted to be completely logical I would just take advantage of my grandmother's offer and stay with her, but then again...I really love my boyfriend, and I could see us being together. I don't want to lose him.I'm just needing advice, I guess, or stories of what happened when others ventured out after graduation. Give me your ideas or thoughts about my situation. And if you need anymore clarification, just ask.I will accept your advice and critiques. I'm doing this so maybe I can better my future.THANKS!

Please HELP!! I am having wedding woes! My fiances brother still actively socializes with my fiance's ex girlfriend/fling. I can not control that nor do I want to. My issue is not that he still socialized with her but, that we all know that she wants to be with him and his brother is feeding the ex's imagination of the idea of getting back together because he shares our relationship information with her. For example, last week the brother went to lunch with the ex. My fiance and I had a conflict a couple days before...Obviously, my fiance is going to confide in his brother about the issue...well when the brother went out to lunch with her, he told her what was going on between the two of us. It upsets me because, 1.,If his brother decides to confide in him for help, he has no business sharing our relationship, personal business with the anyone and definitely not the ex.2. I don't feel that his brother is supportive of our relationship at all. I now feel like he is fake.My dilemma is that we have been actively planning a wedding that involves all of the family with a big reception. Now that I know the details of his brother still socializing with the ex and sharing stuff with her that he shouldn't, I don't want to have a wedding that is inclusive of him because of what he has done.I now want us to get married with our parents there, and get away on a cruise and enjoy one another. Am I over-reacting? What should I do?My feelings are just really hurt, I am irritated, and I can't see myself spending money on people that don't support our love and are sabotaging us behind our backs. Please give me your insight, experiences, and advise. Thank you.PS - Yes, my fiance did confront his brother and told him that it is unacceptable to share our relationship details with anyone.

My oldest daughter ia getting married and I wanted to host the wedding at our home because it is a beautiful estate perfect for such a family event. I scheduled the wedding on a date historiclly the slowest weekend for our business. As financial decisions were being planned my wife complained that we stand to loose income by closing the Inn for the weekend. I stated the Inn is also my home and it is a sacrifice we will make for my family. She insisted we deduct the lost income from my share of the wedding cost. I refused and all in a nut shell there will be no wedding at our home, which would have been cheaper for us because I would have had control of vendors and all the plans. Now it will cost twice as much as it would have because of renting a site and more expensive catering and so on. I feel I had the right to determine my own daughters wedding costs. She has ruined a once in a lifetime memory for me and my entire family. Where did my rights end?3 hours ago - 3 days left to answer. I'm curious to see what and how other people track to learn better techniques for myself and to share with others? Right now I track pain level (1-10) four times throughout the day, time of onsets and time of offsets, and any foods or triggers that helped or made the pain worse. Open Question: A friend of mine...

August 29, 2008

a so-called friend of mine who i thought i could trust, revealed to a friend who i'm in love with, the feelings i hid from her. Last week i tried avoiding contact with her because jealousy over took my entire mind(long story). She doesn't know this though. For 2 days i had the time to take my mind off of things and keep myself productive. But just when I thought it was all going well, the following day my friend tells me that he speaks with her and tells her everything about my feelings for her. He got so sick of seeing me so down and sad that he had to go up to her and have a 1on1 chat about it. She doesn't even know him. I got so upset after hearing what he did. We argued for an hour straight. I gave up and completely lost focus on everything. The fact that I am bi-sexual makes things even harder to communicate with others about my personal problems. I felt so pressured at this point that I opened up to my brother about my sexuality. It's a long story. However, surprisingly he supported me which brought tears to my eyes. To make a long story shorter, i spoke with the friend i'm in love with, explaining to her what really happened and why this all happened. I didn't want her to believe what this guy told her and the good thing about her is that she always trusts me no matter what. We had several conversations about 'these feelings' i have. And at first she wasn't sure but when she asked me if i was in love with her i paused and never really directly responded back to her question. she apologized and told me that she had a feeling that was the reason for all this and that she was too nervous to ask me. she begged me to answer her, telling me not to feel so sad, and how her heart was going crazy too. It took a while for me to respond back and before i could do so, she had to leave. the next time we talk i apologize for not responding. Then we continued on where we left off. She asks me all these questions of how i look at things regarding my 'orientation'. Her initial response towards my reaction was that she thought i looked at 'these feelings' as a bad thing. In this case, I reassured her. She said "I know that our love exists the way it does already."Then she tells me that she wishes we could share our love more but doesn't know of a way to express them with each other and if i came up with a way to let her know. Now my question is, the way she approached this, made it seem as if she feels the same way for me. Do you think she should be saying this if she didn't feel the same way? I mean we're both females. I know that we're both interested in women also. so should i tell her directly how i feel? do you think she'd even want to hear it?

Taxes are applied to corporate profits. If they re- invest profits they don't pay tax.The rate of corporate tax is not a business cost and does not affect pricing.A pricing policy considers factors such as competition prices, volume to price ratios, market share, etc.

I used Etrade to purchase this stock, like I said, on Friday afternoon. I did this before the announcing of the possible merger with Chrysler, so I was kind of stoked when I heard about that later on. Anyway, on Monday morning the purchase was automatically made at $8 dollars a share instead of the $4.93 that I placed the order for. Why?Let me also add, that ass of yet the share price has not actually reached $8

ok, i originally was going to spend $100 on the wireless adapter for the xbox 360. I found that it was a bit pricey and did some thinking and found a simpler solution. Can a normal linksys router capture a wireless network signal and then share it through ethernet? To be exact, this is the situation. I have an airport extreme base in my living room downstairs. I use this to connect my Wii, iMac, and Macbook to the net, wirelessly. Now if i were to buy a linksys router ($50) and use it to capture my airport's wireless b/g,(without running a cable wire to it) and plug an ethernet cable to the back of the linksys with the other side into the xbox, would this work properly and efficiently? Of course i know that i'd have to set the the linksys through my computer's internet browser.

Open Question: About other religions?

This is my dilemma: I say that I am a Wicca. But in some aspects I am also a Christian, a Muslim, a Jew, a Baha'i...I share beliefs from every religion. I perform Salah five times a day. I read the Psalms, and the Sermon on the Mount is my Creed. But I adore the Mother Goddess and Father God. What should I do? Should I mix and match, or Just proclaim myself a follower of a religion of my own making? Is there a religion that combines aspects of every world religion? I love them all, but no single religion satisfies me. But i want to belong. I love God, and I just want to worship God. Can I be all religions at once? Help me, somebody.Oh, and I'm gay also. I also dont believe in the infallibility of a human institution, Like the Vatican or the baha'i House of Justice.

Open Question: I'm Planning On Moving...

August 07, 2008

I'm from California; I've done my share of travelling, I'm 21. I've never had any interest in New York before I visited; I worked at a summer camp upstate, was basically talked into going one weekend, and fell in love.I went back every single weekend until I flew home. Now I know it's expensive. I know that a lot of people make the move, only to return home less than a year later. I found a couple of articles and I get that it's difficult. I don't really care. I don't like where I live, and if I move it should be to someplace I like. And as a person who never bought into the image NYC has, I LOVE New York. What helpful tips might you have? Are there any resources I might find helpful? This is something that I really want to do.

Open Question: Question for...

August 06, 2008

I am an Atheist, but was raised the staunchest of Christians, and I recall the mindset that I and my fellow congregation members shared in common: We believed wholeheartedly that members of other faiths just HAD to feel a certain hollowness, an emptiness that would only be addressed when they heard the *truth* from us, upon which a light was expected to go on in their eyes, and a familiar scenario subsequently unfold, with the former unbelievers embracing with joy the obvious superiority and correctness of Christianity. This was truly the general mindset we held, and anyone who did not conform to these preconceived acceptable patterns we considered as "blinded by the devil."As I grew older and better educated, though, it occurred to me that there simply had to be equal sincerity of belief on the part of other religions; just as I had considered the truth of my beliefs to be so preponderantly obvious, so did persons who held other beliefs hold fervently to the truth of those beliefs. This led me to examine whether or not the quality of "faith" itself was not something distinct from whatever religion it was clothed in; it is the investiture of faith in a form of belief that is important and gives it life, and as there are so many different types of man populating this earth, so faith is manifested in many different forms. All the while, however, this faith is a distinct--and essential--additive to these forms; the forms themselves are less important than the faith invested in them.I hold that faith is a catalyst to expression of devout experience for many people, but what is important is the sincerity invested, which I believe is equal for all people, for all religions. Christians and former Christians, do you feel that there is such equal sincerity of belief among religions? Please give reasons for your personal viewpoint, without citation of scripture--I am not interested in a rehash of biblical platitudes, but in knowing what it is that personally speaks to you, what articulation you can give from your heart that informs your viewpoint.Thank you for your answers.Lily8407: You did not read my question very well; I am not a Christian, I am an Atheist. I was relating the experience of the Christianity I was raised with---a Christianity I long ago rejected.I truly wish that people would read my postings well before they rant against me. *sigh*Leslie D: An investment of faith need not be an abdication of one's common sense, as Jonestown most assuredly was; if you are citing this as an example of the superiority of your own belief system, it is a poor choice---what does it say about a belief when it requires an example of insanity to make it look good?
