I am thinking about creating my own company that is for youth around the world. Believe it or not, I'm 17. I want to make it a goal to help make a difference in our society (eg. education, poverty, child labour, AIDS,cancer). My plan is to make a non-profit charity that involves the contribution of youth (mainly) globally to raise money for children's rights internationally. Also I would like to create a company of community centres/schools/homes that would for all types of youth and their families with their goals, careers and helping to make a path for them to make a right decision to get them off the streets, in school, and reach higher education. I want to help reduce all the issues we face today across the world, like poverty.. and poverty is usually a factor of not enough or no education ( i said usually) and like Oprah says, education comes first. Isn't what we need to help us become successful in life?So My question is, are you a teen that would join a company like this? or do you know someone who would help contribute?or (this is an open question to anyone.) Do you think this is a good idea? how do you think i could be more successful?if you were wondering, my plan for this is to go into university and major in social sciences where i can gain more knowledge about the issues we all face today so i would have an idea of how to get started.

Think about it. How is it patriotic for companies to rip off consumers in the country, but then move their corporations overseas so they can avoid paying taxes in our country, the same country where they sell all their goods. Think about it. All these banks around the world failing because they were all trying to make money off US sub-prime debt? Do you think it is appropriate that a house should cost $65,000 to build (including land), but then sold for $300,000+ because "The market can absorb it"?Is the world wide banking industry a direct indicator of this global rip off of the US consumer when it comes to big ticket and long term purchases? And who for example is to blame the most, lets say ...in the housing industry melt down?I mean, seriously, who is to blame the most? The builder making insane profits knowing fully well they are contributing to artificially inflated values? The buyer who bought thinking it was a good deal (should known better)? Or everyone else who made money in the process (Speculative real estate investors, mortgage brokers, banks that bought these mortgage loans expecting to get paid 3 times the already artificially inflated value, or the wall street banks that arranged these loans to be sold to all over the world)?

Instead the company has made random payments of my personal bills (childcare, business attire, groceries, medicine for my children...).I have posted those transactions in QB as "Distribution to Owner". Is this correct? Also, when tax time comes around am I to total all distributions and report as "payroll" and then pay the taxes on that?(LLC, Sole Owner) I've never had my own business and want to make sure that Im doing everything right.I will be hiring a tax accountant but want to understand before.

Kind of like the UN. I NEED THIS TO WORK OUT ( Not Want. NEED. I feel like I have to help out. I feel like nothing is getting done.) My goal is to make community centres with an emphasis on youth so they can make better decisions in life, make friends, do what they love at a young age and help inspire them to comit to their dreams. After all, when you learn new things at a young age, you apply them to your future. This is my dream. If I could do this, I would be the happiest in the world!(=As a 17 year old how do I start this? I've always wanted a company and to be an entrepreneur and philanthropist. I know I need community support, but how do I get their attention?( Other than being on Oprah) I am looking to study social work in university after high school so I can gain experience. I also need business so I can figure out how to make this successful. Do any of you have or know someone with a successful business? How did you do it? I know it comes with hard work, but yeah I can do this. Somehow. One day I even hope to have celebrities endorsing my company. I want it to be that big and known internationally. I Just need advice. Obama proposes to sharply increase the marginal tax rates for almost every federal tax It is the increase in these marginal tax rates that greatly harms the economy, because the incentives are turned against savings, investment, entrepreneurship, business expansion, job creation, work, and economic growth. So, while he preaches out of one side of his mouth the he will "reduce taxes to 95% of americans" (great way to sucker the country into getting elected, sort of the pied piper of politics) the reality is here:-- Obama proposes to increase the top individual income tax rate by 13% and the second individual income tax rate by 10%.-- Obama proposes to increase the capital gains tax rate by 33%.-- Obama proposes to increase the tax rate on dividends by 33%.-- Obama proposes to raise the top payroll tax rate by between 16%-32%.-- Obama proposes a new payroll tax on employers to help pay for national health insurance.-- Obama proposes to reinstate the death tax, which is being phased out under current law, with a new top marginal tax rate of 45%.-- Obama proposes tax increases for corporations as well, such as the windfall profits tax on oil companies.-- Obama’s protectionist trade policies even suggest higher tariff taxes. The Tax Policy Center estimates that Obama’s tax plan would raise taxes by $627 billion over 10 years.

Hello, I have a few questions regarding starting a new online company. Currently I am looking to start a website and I was told that it is always better to incorporate than be the sole owner of the website, since any legal action that may arise will prevent your personal financial assets from being taken over.1.I am planning to start an information website. So what is the best category to register my business (Should I be looking for C Corporation, General, LLC, Non Profit Corp, S Corp, Non Profit)?2.Since I am just starting out, I am just wondering, if I should wait till I start seeing some decent revenues from my websites, since I don’t have and cannot afford to spend big bucks on registration?3.Should I also consult an attorney apart from registering my website online? Can anyone guide me through some affordable attorney services and registration services that will accomplish these tasks without costing me an arm and a leg?4.What are the probable reasons an information related website can be sued?- (apart from providing wrong information, copyright violation and plagiarism)5.Where do I register for copyright services for my website? It would be great if anyone can suggest me or guide me through any resources or guides that would give all the information. Thanks,

My question is this. I recently went to Wal-Mart to have some of my pictures placed on CD. I had no idea how to go about doing this. So I asked the sales person, and she told me how to do it and what it would cost. I was excited to say the least, so I drove back home and gathered my pictures. Return to the store, and was greeted by a gentlemen. I explained what I wanted to do, and before I could finish my story he interrupted me saying. According to federal regulations we can not place any professional photos on CD. We can't profit from another professional work without their permission to do so. Now mind you the pictures were 25 years old of my son's grade school, one one of my glamor shot etc,. I saw red! I didn't know if I was more upset about not being told about the regulations prior to my drive back home (gas) or the fact that there was no way I would be able to get permission from a company that is possible out of business, and in another state. I was sorry that I blew up at him seeing that he was only the messenger, and he wasn't the original person that waited on me. I finally got my non-professional pictures placed on CD. When I went to pay for them guess who was at the counter? Yes the person who didn't fully disclose all the information. I had calmed down by that time, and only informed her to not only tell the customer what they can expect, but what they can not. Can anyone shred any light on this subject. I've got very old professional pictures that I want to preserve.

Here are the three criteria for a schedule 1 controlled substance.1. The drug or other substance has high potential for abuse. On the contrary, there have been no reports of abuse or misuse of this substance, and in fact the human pineal gland releases it every night when we dream. In fact, a vast majority of reports show quite positive life changes have resulted from the use of DMT.2. The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.Once again, DMT has been show to alleviate depression, as well as curing heroin addiction after one use. Numerous studies show, as I said above, only positive effects on the study groups.3. There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision. This is a substance that is naturally occurring in all humans, most plants, and most animals. There is absolutely no physical risk from consuming this substance. Find me one record that says otherwise. If this drug is illegal, then we are all junkies, because we're all carrying it around inside of our heads. I suppose we should arrest you and your mother, your dog, your lawn, and the President too.The FDA bans substances that are in reality reminiscent of "cure-alls" so that pharmaceutical companies can continue to make a fortune pushing truly dangerous drugs that only treat the SYMPTOMS of the problem. And thus the consumer must come back for more. We are being raped and abused by our system, and I swear to all of you that more and more people are waking up to this. If you refuse to acknowledge that we're being taken advantage of for the profit of the elite billionaires, I suggest you do a little more research. No one wants to believe something like that, but you need to leave your comfort zone. We can create a beautiful world for ourselves in out children if we simply replace these evil people with our own educated, trusted representatives. Peace to you.

Why don't people think the financial rescue plan will work? I had a discussion about this in English Class and the best some kids in the class (AP English), that disagreed with the bill, could come up with is that historically, like in the Great Depression, economic crises are good for the country. They said that in the past, letting depressions happen was good for future generations and that by passing the bailout bill, we are only thinking about this generation. There was no support given to this opinion. I don't see how this is true because the onset of World War 2 and the industry that came from it was what really revived our economy. How will letting our economy fail be good for the next generation? This is what I know, I think the bill needed to be passed because it is the only possible solution to our economic dilemma. It is going to freeze our nation's debt and allow our failing real mortgage and banking firms to fix their infrastructures for as long as needed to make a profit again. In the government buying up bad loans and mortgages that people are unable to pay for because of failing banks, the companies' debts will go away, allowing them to function as they always have. Because the stock market is based on investors' confidence in a company, people will begin to buy stock again hoping to make a profit from the resurrection of the bailed out companies, rebuilding our stock market. Because of these investments, the companies will prosper and will eventually no longer need the government's investments to sustain them. The government will sell the stock (investments) that they bought in the bailout and make a profit just as any other investor would (because the markets are bad now, the government will buy the stocks cheap and then when the companies are revitalized, the price of stock will go up. So when this happens, the gov't will sell and make a profit) There is really nothing we could do without government intervention. $700 billion dollars is A LOT of money that we can't just make up on our own. If the bill did not pass, our debt would continue to build and build by the billions. This will not only rebuild these companies, but also the nation's economy. Both presidential candidates also now fully support the bill and say that they will work hard to make it work when they are in office. If I have incorrect information, please tell me.Why is saving our economy a bad thing? Feel free to share your opinion?

I understand slavery and I understand segregation. I understand white people of the past were at fault. But this is a new generation. Things have changed so much, we can't even compare the past to today. Sure, we're living off the profits of slavery, but it's really not just white people. Practically everything you buy, from food to houses, are at least a little bit the results of slavery. I admit without slavery America wouldn't be where it is today, but I'm not justifying it. Many people always think I am just for saying that and are just too angry to let me explain. I'm a 16 year old white male. But, here's the truth. I'm only 50% European and 50% Asian. I look white though, so automatically I am discriminated for it time to time. I don't know where you live, and I'm guessing some people will think the fact that I'm being discriminated against is complete BS. Yes, that might be true. If I lived somewhere other than the ghetto. I'm not saying all minorities are poor, but yes, there are more rich Caucasians than rich minorities, so as a result, you'd see more poor minorities than poor white people. I'm a poor white person, and it's because my parents are immigrants. They were actually from Asia, not Europe. We all know how people judge based on appearances already, so people would automatically assume I'm all white. That's really how white I look. By now I'm guessing that you think I don't know how minorities suffer. Yes I do actually, but I'm not a minority, I'm white. So naturally, I'd worry about myself more, as you probably would do the same for yourself. I DO care about the problems that minorities have to suffer. But there are also some things "whitey" has to go through as well. Since now there is something called affirmative action, my dad lost a chance at having a better job. The boss of the company he was applying for chose an African American over him, and he ignored the fact that my dad was half Asian. He was simply denying my dad the job because he did not look like a minority. I have nothing against minorities, I don't know how to prove that on yahoo. Of course many people would think negatively of me just for asking this but I don't care it's just a question. The past should stay in the past. I'm not saying we should ignore it and sweep it under the rug, but nobody of any race should use it to discriminate. We've forgotten the fact that we're all individuals instead of clones of each other. There's black individuals, Asian individuals, Hispanic Individuals, White Individuals, etc. You just can't look at the wrongs of a few people and judge everyone else that looks like them. Today's society let the past blind our judgement and it sickening.Am I racist? Many would think so, just because of this question.

Can I own two companies registered on different tax years and shuffle profits between them to reduce taxes? For example: One company can be a marketing company and the other a consulting company. If the consulting company makes $100,000 profit, could I then shift that $75,000 as a marketing expsense to my marketing company? Then, the next year, shift it back. Concievably, I could forever shift the money. I saw a news report where large companies do this, and it makes sense, but not sure how legal it was.

Someone PLEASE help me understand. Today, the price of oil has dropped to less than $90 a barrel- this was the price almost 8 months ago. Now, 8 months ago, we were NOT paying $3.50 a gallon for gas. Now don't quote me, but if I am not mistaken, gas was about $2.70 or so. So my question is, if the price of oil keeps falling, why havn't the gas prices fallen too? So now it seems like gas companies are still making a profit at the pump no matter how cheap the barrel of oil is sold. Why???? Before it seemed to make a little sense, high price per barrel, high gas per gallon. Now its cheaper barrel price, but still same price per gallon? Since we americans have adjusted our budget to high gas prices, do they want to make sure we stay use to that price?

Open Question: Celtic - Rangers...

August 18, 2008

It's quite a read and it is written from a Celtic perspective, but it is a remarkably fair and honest summary of where boths clubs sit financially.I know some of you won't give two fecks about this, but I think it makes interestin readin. While income and expenditure both turned slightly against Celtic last season, it was bonanza time at Ibrox where Rangers published record turnover as a result of the double bounty; Champions League group stage income followed by a run to the Uefa Cup final in Manchester.Celtic turnover (t/o) was £75.237m compared to Rangers £64.452m, but Rangers outsource their merchandising operation, including only a licence payment from JJB Sports in the figures, whereas the Celtic figure includes total income from merchandising sales.Celtic earned £16.092m from merchandising sales, contributing a margin of £4.8m in a financial year without the release of a new home shirt. When Rangers signed the JJB deal in 2006 they revealed they would earn £3m each year, plus £1.45m amortised in the Profit and Loss account (P&L) but paid at the start of the contract in 2006, criteria was in place to provide for bonus payments should unspecified targets be achieved. It was, therefore, with some astonishment that no bonus payments were earned, despite the unprecedented proliferation of Rangers merchandise walking the streets ahead of the Manchester riot.I understand that the bonus is dependent on progress to the latter stages of the Champions League, which ironically would have sold a lot less kit for JJB; it appears Rangers had overlooked a clause for Uefa Cup progress. The big area of interest from a financial statement is the indication of where a company is heading next. Celtic will earn at least £70m this season but if they finish higher than bottom place in the Champions League group stage they should reach £75m.By contrast, Rangers are looking at financial Armageddon. In 2004-05 they earned £34.48m (from continuing operations), a whopping £30m less than last season, but 2004-05 included four home European games, each with TV rights, compared to only one this season.£34m will be the upper limit of their income potential this season; it will be less still, unless a good run in the domestic cups includes high-earning home games, a whole £40m less than what I expect from Celtic and still £28m less than the Celtic figure adjusted for comparable merchandise income.Celtic salary costs were £38.981m, a £2.5m increase on the previous season, compared to £34.339m at Rangers, up a massive £10.1m on 2007. The latter figure will in part reflect incentive payments for European progress, although the clutch of new signings who arrived at the club in 2007 will make up the bulk of the increase. In a masterstroke of business acumen, Rangers chief executive, Martin Bain, appears to have included the Uefa Cup in bonuses to be paid, but not on bonuses earned.I was delighted to learn that Rangers pay more for the remarkably unpopular Bain (£668k) than Celtic pay for 'Self Appointed Football-Integrity Judge and Jury' (W.Smith), Peter Lawwell (£514k). Although perhaps Bain's remuneration also reflected Uefa Cup progress. You would think that with such big numbers flowing into his own bank account the whole 'What will be get if we do well in the Uefa Cup?' question would be at the front of his mind when he negotiated with JJB.Football club's P&L income figures do not include player sales, with are recorded on the balance sheet, so Rangers sale of Cuellar will bring in £7.8m more than the income figure, which itself will be offset in cash terms by the £1.45m banked back in 2006 from JJB.Before they start to spend on extravagances like footballers, clubs have considerable costs to pay. Rates, electricity, property maintenance, policing, to name only a few, cost Celtic £15.395m. Rangers figure was higher than this, perhaps as a result of exceptional items resulting from the run to the Uefa Cup final, so the previous year's cost of £16.262m will be a better indicator of costs this year, which is just £18m less than their anticipated income available for football and other operations.By comparison, Celtic will have in the region of £45m available for football and other operations when adjusted for the merchandise sales difference.Net bank debt at Celtic was £3.52m compared to Rangers' £21.559m but while Celtic are set to come out of debt in May (barring an exceptional expense in January), Rangers net year-end debt is likely to rise beyond £30m unless significant steps are taken to sell players in January.Celtic are in an exceptionally strong financial position. They can survive the vagaries of football fortune, or economic downturn, without the threat of cutback should income dip.Conversely, Rangers are in dire trouble. This year will not be financially the worst Sir David Murray has bestowed on his club, but it will make for horrendous reading to any proprospective buyer of the club and provide further evidence that they are hopelessly adrift of financial security.Winning the league this season and qualifying for next season's Champions League will not provide succour from their structural problems, it would only result in a temporary slowdown in decline.Rangers debt has risen inextricably, and is set to continue to rise, at a time when bank facilities have become more difficult and expensive to acquire. Should new HBOS owners, Lloyds TBS, take fright at the property-to-football conglomerate, Murray International Holdings, which includes Rangers, frankly, the consequences are so dramatic, I don't think we should discuss them, as I have trouble sleeping when I get too excited. We live in a time when things which simply cannot happen, happen. When some of last year's most credit-worthy companies in the world have gone into receivership; http://www.celticquicknews.co.uk/2008/10/celtic-rangers-finances-compar.phpAye Adele, it's a good site that, seems to give the most honest opinions on Celtic and is always very sensible truthful journalism.Eck - I am not trying to make you believe anything, I did not write the article I merely posted it. If you don't like what it says, that's your fault, not mine. You intimate a lot of things about Mr Murray and his power, finances and accumen, which is true, but if an organisations with the power and finances and accumen of HBOS or AIG or Lehmans can become f u cked over night, I'm sure Mr Murray and his wee metal company, could equally so.

HOLMES Published: September 30, 1999In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders. The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets -- including the New York metropolitan region -- will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans. Fannie Mae officials say they hope to make it a nationwide program by next spring. Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits. In addition, banks, thrift institutions and mortgage companies have been pressing Fannie Mae to help them make more loans to so-called subprime borrowers. These borrowers whose incomes, credit ratings and savings are not good enough to qualify for conventional loans, can only get loans from finance companies that charge much higher interest rates -- anywhere from three to four percentage points higher than conventional loans.

Every bi-partisan economist I have heard says the worst thing you can do at a time like this is raise taxes, on ANYBODY. Right now the middle-class and below are not spending money because they can't. Only rich people are spending. If you raise taxes on them, they too will stop spending and the economy will collapse. Obama plans to introduce an additional $1.2 trillion in spending programs if elected. There is no way Obama can do this, coupled with the $700 billion bailout, without raising taxes on the middle class. So Obama has two choices. Either cut all his new programs, which will make him a "Do-Nothing" President, or raise taxes on the middle class. Neither of which are any good for this country. In addition, Obama also wants to raise the capital gains tax and raise corporate taxes. By raising capital gains taxes, people will REALLY stop investing in their money and pull whatever money they have left in their portfolios out. And by raising corporate taxes, big companies will start laying off workers at alarming rates and move their businesses overseas.Oh yeah, and he also wants to implement a "windfall profits" tax on oil companies. What a disaster this will be. Gas prices are finally starting to come down, and Obama's plan will shoot them right back up. Oil companies will simply decrease their production to fall below the "windfall line" in order to avoid such taxes. This of course means supply will decrease and prices will just go up.Obama's plan doesn't sound to good to me, how bout you? Bush's plan was working until the Democraps took over the House and the Senate two years ago.

Mr. B. Ball, director of manufacturing for the High Step Sports Shoe Corporation, wants to maximize the company's profits. The company makes two brands of high-top sports shoe, Airheads and Jumphighs. The company earns $10 profit on each pair of Airheads and $8.50 on each pair of Jumphighs. The steps in manufacturing include cutting the material on a machine and having workers assemble the pieces into the different shoes.
