Bit gross this; For the past two years or so I have been putting up with chronic pain in an area just left of my stomach and my groin. It comes in sharp stabs or dull aches. This sort of area, my left + lower stomach feels like a broken box. I can hardly eat, sometimes I'm sick, sometimes I throw bile. I go through diahorrea and constipation. Sometimes I can see food in my stools, like it's not been digested. I also have popping and groaning sounds and churning in my lower stomach and my very lower back. This drives me crazy, there's always popping and churning from there. I can't put on weight at all.I've seen bloody doctors left right and centre but cus I have a 'history' they take one look at me and say the problem is psychiatric and I have depression or sum b0llcks, jus fob off, that was all years ago. It's really painful and I've had enough, can someone give me an idea as to what is wrong with me.Thick file, yes you could say that. Not like they were any help either,

For the last few days, maybe a week or two, I have been feeling really exhausted. My whole body is feeling drained. Also, at least once a day, I will get these incredible sharp knifing pains in my breasts. It doesn't last very long, but boy does it hurt. Along with that at night I tend to feel very winded, especially when I am lying down. Tonight, I was lying down and felt a nagging pain in my armpit, and when I was feeling around, the lymph node is huge and painful. Now, I have been fighting a losing battle with an ear infection (6 weeks and counting..), and I wonder if this has anything to do with this. I don't have a history of breast cancer in my family, only 2 people in my immediate family had cancer- my paternal grandfather died from prostate and stomach cancer, and my dad died from bile duct cancer, so I don't know who to ask about it. Has anyone else gone through or can possibly explain this? I plan to see my GP , but maybe to ease my fear? Serious answers please. If anyone needs more information, let me know and I will post it.I thought of cat scratch fever, but I checked and that isn't it. I haven't let this infection linger for 6 weeks, I have been on constant antibiotics with no success.

Here's the details. when i get this feeling i have to run to the bathroom b/c i feel like i'm about to projectile vomit (sorry), but the only thing that happens is a lot of dry heaving. sometimes, i will vomit a small amount of orange/yellowish fluid. this lasts for about 10 minutes then i'm usually ok. it has happened multiple times on several occasions. i have stopped eating anything before i go to bed and it still happens. there is no particular thing i can think of that seems to bother me on the nights this happens. i have seen a gi doc, had the colon/endoscopy done. i had colon polyps and 2 stomach ulcers. i take prilosec to combat the effects acid build up. anyone have any idea what this might be? i read somewhere about bile reflux. my father has a history of gall stones and had his gall bladder removed. he also had his appendix taken out recently. not sure if that even matters. if there's additional info needed just let me know. thank you all.

Yesterday I ate a LARGE, fatty meal of french toast, bacon, eggs, hash brown and sausage. About 4hrs later I had diffuse belly pain and nausea. After 2hrs I starting vomitting for a total of 5 times over 2 hrs (at that point it was only bile). I think I had a fever, but I don't own a thermometer. I did mange to sleep 2-3 hrs last night and now I am severely dehydrated but otherwise ok. Of note, I did eat McDonalds the night before this event. I have no other medical history and take no meds. I was thinking it may be food poisoning but the onset was so rapid, this doesn't make sense to me. Can you just get sick from eating a large, fatty meal? If it was viral or bacterial would the signs remit so quickly? Please let me know.Ok and the location of the pain doesn't fit for gallstones classically, either.

We have just had Rememberance Sunday, paying respect for all those who fought and died defending our shores from the Nazi scum from Germany from 1939 to 1945. Before 1939 we had our own Nazi's in England called the 'British Union of Facists' under Oswald Mosley. In the 1930's Mosley and his followers ranted the same bile about Jews ('taking over'), that some on here are now ranting about Asians and Blacks ('taking over') (see some of the questions here on YA). In 1940 we locked Moseley and his gang of Nazi's up while we defeated Hitler and his scum. Now in 2007 (and the day after Rememberance Sunday) some on here are giving people with the same views as Moseley the 'thumbs up' - our brave men and women who fought Hitler must be turning in their graves.Think very hard before you agree with these people - think very hard it does not take much for history to repeat itself.Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oswald_Mosleyhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Union_of_FascistsChris - I was not going to comment on peoples answers to this question, but I need to clarify something with you. I did not say that I am against Immiration control. Every national on earth has immigration control, though that is a whole topic in itself, I'm talking pacifically about racism ie picking out and targetting immigrants on the grounds of race (ie who tonight mentions Australians, Americans, western Europeans immigrants) the comments tonight were racist. If you want to ask a purely immigration control question then please do so.Tabbyfur - I know that we differ srongly on another subject . That said I respect your answer which is well put, but I feel slightly misguided but thats not your fault thats a government issue. Basically we are a nation of inequality of wealth distribution (as indeed are others in the western world) those including you and me with moderate wealth maintain it by immigrating cheap labour. This has been the case since WW2 except no government is going to admit it as its a hot potato. But that was not my point with this question, that is for a different question ie "why the UK needs cheap labour immigration". Once again I respect your support re racism.Global Surveyor - I ask you to re-consider what you have written please. I'm am not asking you to change your viewpoint re the fallen of the past, but Ifeel that there was no need for the personal abuse within your answer.Sunny - agree mate and I been on so many anti war demo's I lost count, but this was specifically a dig at the encroaching racist on A 'Current Events'Ms Sprocket - thanks mate, totally agree

Lola is 14 months old. She has a history of acid reflux and the vet has her on pepcid. Typically when the acid reflux happens she licks her lips and smacks her mouth early in the morning and then she ends up not wanting to eat and vomiting bile. With the vets help between the pepcid and altering her diet we have got it under control. Starting last week she wakes up through out the night doing the same lip licking smacking thing. But I don't think it is acid reflux because she doesn't vomit and can't wait to eat in the morning. In addition twards the morning it sounds like her nose is a bit stuffy, snoring. Kind of like post nasel drip? Called the vet and they are testing her stool but he told us to get "little noses" and put drops in her nose at night. I hope this helps the lip licking and smacking. Aside from wanting her to feel good...it keeps us up all night. Andybody else have anything like this?- Almost like she is licking her nose? Maybe it is runny?- I read on here that dogs might do this if there is something stuck in their teeth?- She eats a snack before bed and we leave water down for her?- It happens mostly in the early morning..5am, 6am...- Stool came back clean- But she could still have a cold?

My dog, Sophie, is a two year old lab we rescued from the SPCA last month. She had a vet check right after we got her and he said she had no conditions (she was also abandoned to SPCA with all of her history and there is nothing to indicate any underlying issues) and was declared in sound health - except for leg injury we knew about.Anyways, Sophie recently got into some garbage, but before everyone jumps on the band wagon, the garbage she got into was a box of peek freans (NO CHOCOLATE), a cup of soup made of styrafoam -sp?- (NO ONIONS OR CHOCOLATE), and 1 box of pizza that had no pizza in it, and the box was made of cardboard. This, however, happened on SATURDAY (now Tuesday) and she did not get sick any time on Saturday or Sunday.Monday she puked up her dog food, and nothing else (I went through the vomit), that was it. She was hungry a few hours later (rightfully so!) and I fed her some food again, and she kept that down all night.Tuesday morning, between 6 and 7:30 AM she..puked three times. Once again, I leafed through the vomit and this time, it wasn't vomit of substance, but more liquid and thin. There was some grass and even what sort of looked like styrofoam. After that, she had her breakfast (I was reluctant to feed her if she was just going to puke it back up, so we waited an hour before feeding) and she ate all her food, like usual, and was fine.It wasn't again until about 3:45-4:00 PM that she puked again, and once again, it was a thin, green liquid and nothing of substance. She ate her dinner at her usual 6:30, but before having dinner, she dry heaved (no "bile"). After dinner, approximately 7:15, she dry heaved again, but nothing came up. It's now 10:30 and she hasn't puked since. It's important to note, she hasn't shown any classic symptoms of having something lodged in her stomach. She isn't projectile vomiting and she isn't lethargic. She clearly isn't anorexic and she's still eating her dinner.I don't have the money right now...to take her to a vet and spend a lot of money and am hoping to avoid it. Obviously, if things get worse for my baby, I'll dip into my savings and just do without for a while, but I'd clearly rather not do that. And I have seen her eating grass lately, but I've always been under the impression that dogs eat grass most of the time because they've got an upset stomach. Please, any help you can give would be much appreciated.to take her to a vet and spend a lot of money and am hoping to avoid it. The cookies were old (stale) but nothing that would have make ME sick because I ate everything that she did. The pizza box was empty and the cup of soup was well... empty too.I'm sort of thinking she ate some of the cardboard or something, but at the same time, cardboard breaks down easily in water, I can't imagine how poorly it'd hold up in stomach acids.

ok is this considered biology and could i use it for a report in which im supposed to write about wat i learned form the article....A SUDDEN TURN: Gene Upshaw was diagnosed with pancreatic Gene Upshaw, the executive director of the National Football League Player's Association—the union for NFL players—died late Wednesday evening of pancreatic cancer while vacationing in California's Lake Tahoe. Doctors diagnosed the 63-year-old Hall of Fame offensive lineman with the disease just four days earlier.Upshaw was a guard for the Oakland Raiders from 1967 to 1981. He played in seven Pro Bowls and three Super Bowls. He served as head of the NFL player's union for 25 years.According to Bloomberg News, Upshaw's wife, Terri, took him to a hospital on Sunday, August 17th, because he was having trouble breathing. A biopsy revealed, much to everyone's surprise, that he had advanced pancreatic cancer. In March, actor Patrick Swayze—star of the hit 1980s film Dirty Dancing—revealed he had been diagnosed with the illness in January. Doctors' reports indicated they had caught his cancer relatively early. The pancreas secretes hormones and enzymes to digest our fats. One of those hormones is insulin, which prompts the body to use sugar in the blood rather than fat as energy. Its levels are low in diabetic patients, who suffer from abnormally high blood sugar.Only one fifth of Americans diagnosed with pancreatic cancer survive for a full year, according to the American Cancer Society, and it is the fourth leading cause of cancer death in the country. How does the disease develop without noticeable symptoms and then kill so quickly? To find out, ScientificAmerican.com called Allyson Ocean, an oncologist at New York–Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, who specializes in gastrointestinal cancers including pancreatic cancer. An edited transcript follows:Why does pancreatic cancer kill so quickly?Pancreatic cancer is typically diagnosed at a late stage because it doesn't cause symptoms until it's too late. Weight loss, abdominal pain, jaundice [a yellowing of the skin due to toxic buildup in the liver]—those are the most common symptoms. They usually start after the tumor is a significant size. By then, chances are, it has metastasized [that is, spread to other parts of the body].Only about 10 to 15 percent of pancreatic cancers are diagnosed when they could be considered for surgery. And the prognosis is poor even in patients who do have surgery, because it comes back about 85 percent of the time. At best, 25 to 30 percent of patients are alive five years after surgery. When doctors do pancreatic cancer surgery, they take out 95 percent of the pancreas, including the tumor, and then they leave a small remnant of the pancreas in there that serves [the insulin-producing] functions. If a person can live without a fully functional pancreas, then what, ultimately, kills most pancreatic cancer patients? When most patients die of pancreatic cancer, they die of liver failure from their liver being taken over by tumor. What precludes doctors from performing surgery on late-stage patients like Upshaw? We don't do surgery if the tumor has already spread outside the pancreas, because there's no survival benefit in removing the tumor. We also sometimes can't do surgery [when the tumor] involves the great blood vessels, the superior mesenteric vein and superior mesenteric artery. Those are the main vessels that come off of the aorta, the main artery in our body. If the tumor is wrapped around those blood vessels, then we can't take it out.Why is this particular cancer so aggressive?Because of the nature of the tumor cells. They escape the treatments, they hide out, and then they come back. And they grow again and they affect the liver and then they kill people. What are the biggest risk factors for pancreatic cancer? The biggest known risk factors are smoking and family history—it can be a hereditary disease. Then there are some other more obscure risk factors, such as defects in the anatomy of the pancreas, but that's very rare. What factors affect how early a person gets diagnosed?Depending on where the cancer is diagnosed in the pancreas, it can affect how soon it's diagnosed. For instance, if the cancer is in the head of the pancreas, which is close to the common bile duct, and it grows and it causes obstruction of the common bile duct, a patient can get jaundiced. And then they could [show symptoms] sooner than someone whose pancreatic cancer is in another part of the pancreas, like the tail. They would not present with jaundice, so we would not have a clue that there was necessarily anything wrong with them. What are some of main symptoms as the cancer progresses?Unexplained weight loss, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting. Back pain is another one, because the pancreas is very posterior in the body. Back pain is also the most common complaint that p
