I've had back pain for four years now. The pain just occurred slowly and got worse—it was no specific injury that caused it. I spend a lot of time sitting down at a computer, and I recently spent £400 on a good chair. However, I'm still getting pain and it looks as if the damage has been done.My pain is in the upper-back, which is not as common as lower-back pain. I feel it's most painful in the center area, and around the shoulder blades. Every time I move around I hear clicking sounds from my neck and on my back, about halfway down my body on my sides, and it really hurts. In the morning it can be really bad. Recently, I've started to get a really bad headache pain at the back of my head and I'm wondering if it's related. Could stress be making it worse? I've been engulfed in a writing project for a couple of weeks now, which is keeping me indoors and away from the outside world.My doctor keeps giving me Diclofenac (anti-inflammatory drug) and pain killers, but I'm sick of those because it's not a long-term solution. He won't refer me to a hospital to get it checked. Should I keep badgering him? I did visit an Osteopath for private sessions, which did make me feel better for a time. But I could not afford to keep going. I think he told me, if I remember correctly, that the clicking sounds were trapped air. I could be wrong. He was certain my pain was muscular and not spinal related. Best Regards.
