With a view to training staff later, What i really wanted. No one else was doing my role. It was a big opportunity for me. They were about to move in big offices, just hired a whole bunch of new people and everyone was advising everyone else.It was going fine and but I found i knew more then the peoplea aound me but hadnt had a breakthrough in HR yet. The boss is middle eastern and seemed to have unrealistic expectations. eg I called all their accounts 2 months in advance and then they ran out of list for me, so couldnt meet KPI'S. We had a temp who quit, she was doing a dead end task. I wasnt on the IT system until a week later as they were so sloppy. Then the day i quit I was wanting to catch up on IT to have the receptionist 40 minutes late so we all couldnt get in as it was locked. The temp didnt turn up. The day before the director said to me 'What did you do all day?' As if I was doing nothing. It immediately deflated me and put so much pressure on me I ended up not sleeping as I had worked so hard.The next day he walked in and pretended to offer me more training...actually he wanted me to do a dead end task the temp had just quit. I said no as i had work to do. It wasnt the first time he overheard a conversation. Actually we were upset we were locked out. He said I had just been saying i had nothing to do...actually every time i reached the end of the task both directors would dump somethign else on my desk, when i hadnt had lunch. I enjoy sales but wasnt expecting this. i said i wont be doing what that girl did as i have my own tasks given i had to input all the sales into Act so they were recorded with notes.Anway, after all this, he came back in and started yelling I do what he says, when he says, without question, without saying anything else, i am the magaging director, i talk only to him and no one else and only ask him for help. He was then yelling it about 3 times...the marketing guy scuried out of the room. I got the feeling the director wanting me to 'bend to his will.' Given he was never in the office and i am with the sales team in a different role, i was really amazed he said i only talk to him. This means that I am meant to be isolated? He picked me as i am smart then it turned out i am to smart. Eg they lost 10 customers who were disatisfied and instead of calling them back had a big lunch and bothered a few days later but missed them.I was so upset that it seemed to me they had hired me in a role where I can later train people but expected me to do anything for them. I think he felt threatened i was intelligent and said no to him, i wasnt so dumb to say yes to a task not mine. The temp spent 3 hours to send one invoice as the system she was sending to opened briefly periodically so you had to sit there and stare at the screen and wait.I am gutted as i would have been behind in my own work. Also, I worked hard, while the face to face sales spent half the time designing brochures and they all turn up late.I would be able to make lots of short cuts in my career as they are growing rapidly but AM I RIGHT in having left? I don't know if i can work with a male who expects to dominate the female..i was the only one in the entire organisation reporting straight to him. I think he heard me talking to someone else and felt undermined..but thats the point, he should be listening and everyone was on a team but me.I cant beleive the marketing manager ran out. The sales team were all about 50, director and trainers all male, so there was no young women other then the receptionist. Given she was there I am suprised he was so angry with me and he seemed to want to break me. I am suprised at any guy telling a girl to not disagree wtih them in front of others or to do what they say when he says. I was very upset that he yelled at me so faxed my resignation. I have never quit, i was working very hard and its a slap in the face. One of the sales women quit as it wasnt for her and then they asked one of the trainers to do her sales calls. I am just gutted that i woiuld see myself as an equal to the director but he took it as a threat.I ended up having to stop talking so he could rip shit through me..i would not have put up with it in any setting but i am also suprised he asked. I have a degree I am not dumb. But I am attractive and look younger then I am.WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED? Given I can catch up massively in my career and their all a mess just moving across town, do I go back? Also, one of the trainers asked me to put his file back claiming he didnt understand the filling system (alphabetical order in the file room.) i was again suprised given it was his file and he was closer to it. I asked and he said that he had no time...it let me think that he believed his job to be more important, even though i had a degree in HR and he was just a trainer.Was i just in a boys club? The Director didtn talk to me for the rest of the day and i didnt say bye.Still, what the hell was this? i havent come accross this before.Do i go back? Why did they think they could dump? Was doing their phone sales a dumb job for them?
