Open Question: Why are most Americans...
His campaign makes it a point to criticize Obama's lack of experience, when Palin has been senator of Alaska (the state with the second smallest population) for just a year and has no experience whatsoever with foreign policy. McCain met her six months ago and had only talked to her once on the phone before choosing her as his running mate. What if McCain dies during his presidency? Would you really want someone as completely unqualified as Palin as president of the United States? It's just an attempt to gain feminists' votes, when everything she stands for is the opposite of progressive; for instance, she opposes same-sex marriage. It is obscenely insulting how McCain believes America is stupid enough to vote for him because his running mate is a pretty face, and the worst part is many people will fall for it.ebola_patient_zero: right, one insignificant error in my post renders my entire argument invalid. flawless thinking.I'm not going to reply to most of the other answers because the majority are incoherent, have no relevance, are logical fallacies, or are blatant lies.

How many houses does she add to McCains campagin. What the hell.

No way no how some ultra liberal lesbians are going to get out smarted by McSame. Palin is way to fine for the lesbo community. I really think McBush blew it and it backfired. Whats even funnier is republicans themselves see this and are furious considering McBush's age and cancer dilemma.bad move to try to play politics rather than look out for America.cool. Thanks McSame. Now you alienated yourself from dems and repo cans. joseph z... yes! Mcdummy is very funny! ! ! !
Open Question: What do you feel John...
By seeing John McCain's VP choice, I imediately became distrustful for reasons stated in the letter between me and this girl i know. I'm a bit liberal and she's a bit conservative. I posted my status on facebook as "now i'm 100% sure that John McCain is full of s..." and she responded "And Obama is perfect, right?" Then she wrote me a letter in which we argue back and forth in.Today at 4:17pmnow you're 100% sure that john mccain is full of s h i t? thats the biggest load of bull i've heard chris. seriouslyToday at 4:31pmfar from it but by chosing a woman all of a sudden to be his VP just suggest that he's trying to get all the people that voted for hillary because she was a woman, to vote for him. It's just a bad gimmick for the people who got all pissed off at obama because she didnt win or get chosen for VP. Because Obama didnt chose a woman to work with him, all of a sudden McCain just waves a flag saying "Look at me, i have a woman working with me now" My point thus being that John McCain is full of s h i t for trying to suck up to women to get thier vote.Today at 4:46pmwhy is it impossible that she was only chosen because she's a woman? in case you didn't know, there have been women VP's before lol. If you think that having a woman VP is an annoying gimmick, then Obama's gimmick must be killin you. Also, even if that is his reason for picking her, thats called being a smart politician, appealing to the greater public. You should understand that since you apparently know so much about this. Not only are you claiming to know all about this, but you're also claiming to know Mccain's thoughts and motives. again, bull.PS, there is a diff in making a comment and purposely being rude. You'd have to be dumb if you think none of your friends like McCain, so its good to know that you have so much respect for, not only other people in general, but especially your friendsyou don't have to reply to this, nothing i say is going to change your opinion, visa versa. just wanted to let you know that your totally uncalled for coment did get a rise out of someone, like i assume it was meant to.Today at 5:23pmNah, i really do feel like replying because it's caught my intrest... Lacey dont you think that's just a bit too convienent. I mean watch his own ads. There's one with this girl that like "I used to vote Hillary, now i vote McCain". And it's even all over the news "Hillary supporters wont support Barack Obama because they would have prefered him to chose her for VP." Even if Obama has a gimmick, John McCain just completely topped it by pulling this. And if that really is why he's doing it, that dosent make him a political genius, in reality he just became a lying oportunist. As for my comment, it wasnt meant to "get a rise out of people" and quite frankly you are the least likely person on my mind that i expected would say anything. Haha. And yea, dude, get over it. I know alot of my friends like McCain, but it's not like i'm out to please them. I'm not going to shut up about my political believes just to stay popular with them. It's not offencive to state your oppinion, they listen to what i say, and i listen to what they say. The same people who i'd say "John McCain is full of s h i t" to would say the same about Obama the next day. People are going to say things, freedom of speech. Plain and simple. We just believe what we believe and we're not going to freak out over it. It's just that easy.Today at 5:29pmI'm really not even going to defend this cause like i said, nothin i say is going to have any affect on someone who is close minded.
Open Question: Could somebody pinch me?
Did McCain seriously just pick Palin over Ridge, Romney AND Lieberman? On second thought, just shoot me -- I don't want to see how this ends.
Open Question: Did McCain's VP choice...
Obama and McCain were tied. Then McCain picks a woman VPSince more than half of the voters are women and many of them were disappointed to see Hillary lose and then not be chosen as Obama's VP there WILL be women changing their vote because there is a woman on the ticket. And remember Dems not all women are pro-choice or socialists. Some of them even cling to their religion and guns!
Open Question: Is Palin really the...
Yes, she's a woman and maybe a couple of Hillary voters *might* be tempted...But ultimately, she works for the oil companies and has less experience than anyone else...Furthermore, if there is any sexism that worked against Hillary, it will work against Palin especially because she can't be seen as a victim.Lastly, McCain has alienated Christian Conservatives and Fiscal Conservatives alike in choosing her over more dedicated and experienced candidates like Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney...
Open Question: Do you think that...
I think it's great that McCain has finally given us a woman to vote for who women will be happy to vote for! I just could never see myself voting for Hillary, she wasn't like me at all. But Sarah Palin is pretty much perfect... a mom with kids, PTA, rising above corruption to become the Governor. I really am happy to have this choice to vote for...finally a woman who we can all be proud to cast our vote for. Good job, McCain!
Open Question: Anyone surprised with...
if i am correct, he does have a woman running with him for vice president right? I really didnt see that coming.
Open Question: If Obama had chosen...
I have a sneaky little suspicion that if it had come down to an Obama/Clinton ticket, we would be seeing a McCain/Romney team. Anyone agree? I have to say though, this just made things SOOO interesting. I'm excited to see what happens.
Open Question: Has Senator Obama...
...and is this a real bounce or just a blip, an anomaly?Gallup Daily tracking reported Friday that Obama holds a 49 percent to 41 percent lead. When the Democratic convention began, the candidates were knotted up at 45. Thursday, Obama had gained 6 points in the polls. Friday's results — which include three days of phone surveys from Tuesday to Thursday — show that lead increasing by two more points. That bounce does not include any potential effect of Obama’s much-hyped and widely praised convention speech Thursday night. The Rasmussen Reports daily tracking poll also finds that Obama has taken his greatest lead since July. Rasmussen pegs Obama with 46 percent of the vote to McCain’s 43 percent, a lead that expands to 49 percent to 45 percent when “leaners” are included. Rasmussen’s latest poll also was conducted too early to show any effect from Obama’s acceptance speech. There were some early indications, though, that Obama’s speech may have enhanced his public appeal. The Democratic polling firm Democracy Corps tracked undecided voters in Nevada as they viewed Obama’s acceptance speech. Follow-up focus groups revealed that one in four so-called swing voters who had been leaning to McCain moved to undecided, and one in four who had been undecided moved to favoring Obama. But the first national surveys following Obama’s speech will not be available until Saturday. For Obama, who came into this convention facing down high expectations, the polling indicates that he has so far slightly bettered the baseline for a convention bounce....Gallup’s tracking from Monday to Wednesday, when Obama's 6-point bounce first appeared, indicated that Obama’s gains were largely due to increased favor among conservative Democrats. Those same Democrats are more likely to be onetime Hillary Rodham Clinton supporters. Palin’s status as potentially the first female vice president could draw some Clintonites — particularly middle-aged or older white women — away from the Democratic ticket. It remains to be seen if adding Palin to the ticket will have a long-term effect in the polls. Walter Mondale’s choice of Geraldine Ferraro in 1984 may have been historic — marking the first time a woman ran on the ticket of either major party — but after a 9-point post-convention bounce, the Democratic ticket went nowhere fast.http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20080829/pl_politico/12986;_ylt=AruOB1Uybupx.WzUo5.xuX2_w5R4

I just bought this TV last night, I haven't upgraded to HD Cable yet, But the picture while watching cable seems to be a tiny but fuzzy, the color is great and all, For example while John Mccain was giving a speech this morning I could not make out his American Flag pin. I mean its not terrible like to where I cant see anything just a little blurry. Is there a setting or something I can change? Help please.

1. We the people should choose the vice president, I mean it's a prety important job, and if the president dies, he takes over, right?2. Are the elite powers that be letting global warming take place because the people effected most from it are the 3rd world countries, and who needs them overpopulating the world, right?3. Is college in America not free and paid by our taxes like in other countries because if that was the case noone would want to join the military?4. 47 million Americans are uninsured, while other countries have free healthcare, is this because corporations run the U.S., or our healthcare is "waaay better" than everyone elses?5. Does the media sell the wars and make the presidents, or do we the "the little people" have a say so, really?6. Is the war on terror, keeping us free, or actually taking more of our rights away?7. Is Usama "Osama" Bin Laden still hiding in a cave after 7+ years?8. Is the seat belt law really there to protect us or there to give a cop the right to pull you over and search your car and write you some tickets, I mean I don't see motorcyclist wearing seatbelts, or even helmets and any other protection most of the time, and they don't get pulled over.9. Oh, and are Obama and Mccain really are last two presidential candidates, comeone, this is what it's come down to?Yeah mccain has 7 houses, he thinks, haha. Even if you like mccain, his running mate has been a governor of alaska for 2 freakin years, wtf. It's crazy, I mean what if Bill clinton had a female running mate, nothing would have gotten done. I don't know, all I know is 47 million is a lot of uninsured people, the patriot act sucks, and the media chooses what we the majority see's thinks, and do.I'm older now and know that unfortunately it's not what you know and have accomplished that makes you president, it's how much but you kiss, and how many promises you make to the people who donate the most money to your campaign. Things I don't like are, the federal reserve, corporate healthcare, war proffiteers "halliburton", celebrity endorsements, and biased media" WELCOME TO THE (no) SPIN ZONE" I won't mention his name, because my question was deleted last time. The military is still volunteer, in a country where college is a necessity and the military offers the moola for college that now literally cost and arm and a leg.
Open Question: Am I The Only One Who...
Yes, she's a woman. Yes, she has executive experience. But, surely there were conservative Republican female Governors on the mainland who could have been chosen instead. What the heck does an Alaska Governor have in common with Pennsylvanians or Minnesotans. She might's swing Canada, but she won't swing those states that are needed for McCain to win this contest. (By the way, Senator Biden is an expert debater. I cannot see her doing the GOP justice in the debate against him). I meant irrationality, not rationality.

We all grow up, someday, I guess. Now, I am a man. I realize the importance of untangling complex political quandaries such as --determining whether or not Sarah Palin does - or does not - look like a cross between unknown person A and 'heard of once' person B. --deciding who is more attractive to hetero dem males--exercising my civic duty as a psychic in determining whether Obama now regrets not choosing Hillary--ditto: deciding if McCain chose Palin only because she was in a beauty contest. And so, as my veritable 'coming of age', my 'Y!A-Elections' Doctoral Thesis, I hereby pose the brain-bender of brain-benders, the coup d' chaw of elective uppitiness. Open Question: Do people honestly...
Lets see, millions of manufacturing jobs lost, record high gas prices due to no energy policy, a war that should never have been fought costing us $10 billion dollars a month, record low market returns and housing defaults, wage stagnation and spiraling college and medical costs. Yes, the 8 years of Republican leadership has had the U.S. strong- NOT! Wake up people!! I want a president who is president of the people, not president for the corporations and oil companies! We need the kind of economy and job growth we had under Bill Clinton. Obama has great energy and he wil fight for people besides the RICH PEOPLE.

Open Question: Why are there so many...
Most people on here didn't even know her before today. I'm not saying she's not a good candidate, but I see avatars and Sarah rocks and go Palin '08. I didn't hear anything about her a while ago. So what's with the sudden "fan base?" Did she do something great? I read on her, and she's been a governor of Alaska for two years. Also, what would people say if something happened to McCain while he was president? I'm not hoping for it, but I do think its a reasonable question. Would people be comfortable with her as "president?"
Resolved Question: Is Palin really a...
McCain has been heavily touting Sarah Palin's reformist credentials, with her supposed opposition to Alaska's "Bridge to Nowhere". But how hard did she really fight the project? Not very, it seems. Here's what she told the Anchorage Daily News on October 22, 2006, during the race for the governor's seat:5. Would you continue state funding for the proposed Knik Arm and Gravina Island bridges? Yes. I would like to see Alaska's infrastructure projects built sooner rather than later. The window is now--while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist. My my. She lies on her first day.
Open Question: If most women vote for...
Not because she the best candidate behind McCain . What do y'alll think ? I mean Palin is like the opposite of Clinton who is loved by most women. Palin mostly goes against what most women want. Ladies you are HUGE in this election choose wisely....please.Anna cant read.
Open Question: OK, as an Obama...
I was actually a little nervous about McCain's choice. He could have picked from a very capable pool of candidates that would have envigorated a fairly stagnant Republican base. Then I turn on my TV to see that he selected a VP who was a mayor of a town with 8,500 people and a governor of a state with the same number of people as Memphis, Tennessee. I really thought it was a joke as it was an astronomically stupid pick on so many levels. Most importantly, it completely undercuts his best argument against Obama in terms of experience. I can't remember a less qualified candidate for this high of office, even someone I couldn't stand, like a Dick Cheney or Dan Quayle. And, on top of that, she's being investigated for abuse of power! I mean, really, what was McCain thinking? So, needless to say, I am pretty happy. Sure, she will look pretty good next week at the convention, candidates always do. Republicans, for the most part, will fall in line behind their candidate. But, she is going to enter an environment she presently has no conception of handling and she will face scrutiny unlike she has ever faced before now. She is a very inviting target for the Democrats. So, please tell me exactly why I should even be the slightest bit concerned about her as the VP candidate? And, please be realistic. No, she is not more experienced than Obama, don't give me that ridiculous backroom spin job. And don't give me the "Obama sucks" or "Obama is a fraud" stuff. Some substance, please. The woman angle works even less to me. There were much better qualified female candidates in the Republican Party with solid conservative credentials. This seems so transparently like pandering, especially when her views are very much unlike Clinton's.Desert-yes, my mind was made up about my vote, which I made very clear up front. However, that wasn't the question.I am well aware of the role of VP in the government. Ultimately, the VP choice makes a slight difference. Essentially, you pick someone who can spark a particular group without negating another. Basically, their job is not to screw up or appear totally imcompetant. There is a very high risk factor here. If people see her struggle, it will reflect negatively on McCain.Kojak, I explained in the original post that you can leave out the baloney of her having executive and more experience than Obama. No one, outside of the Republican kool-aid drinkers, believes that nonsense. Obama's State Senate district was nearly as large as Alaska's. She was a glorified mayor. VERY weak.Alex, sounds as if you are taking pointers straight from the Republican playbook. Up until a year ago, her best experience was being elected mayor of a town I could win tomorrow if I ran. Then, she ran the government of a state with less people than over 30 CITIES in the country. Her experience is extremely, extremely limited and, if they are going to have to rely on her "speaking from the heart", there will be serious problems.Michael, if you have never heard of any Democrat doing those things, then you need to get out a LOT more. Also, I would suggest taking a look at Obama's accomplishments as compared to Palin's. She falls short, completely.
Open Question: Why didn't McCain pick...
I am befuddled by this choice. It's as if McCain thinks women are stupid or just will vote for anyone with ovaries. If this is a play for Hillary voters it was a total loss. Gov Palin has NOTHING in common with Hillary on any issues - they are complete opposites. She endorsed Pat Buchanan in 2000! Can you imagine anyone that believed in Hillary's ideals (healthcare, education, ending the war, etc) voting for this pro-life, anti-gun control woman?McCain has so little respect for women that he is using this one - hey, she's young, a mommy (although can't figure out when she sees the kids), and attractive - she will never question him. What I want to know is why, if he was serious about a woman, didn't he pick someone like Olympia Snowe (ME) or Kay Baily Hutchinson (TX) - or some other equally qualified experienced woman?I know the Repubs are all over this but ask yourselves (honestly if possible) do you really really believe this woman is ready to be Commander in Chief if necessary? Can she sit down with world leaders? Do you truly think she is ready for this or would you prefer to have Joe Biden step in if needed?
Open Question: Do Republicans see...
no one said a word about McCain's experience before this VP nomination...only about Obama's experience...now it's a lot of talk...going both ways... not quite the same advantage anymore...making a non-issue an issue isn't a good thing...and of course you have your defenses "but she was a gov...." and such... but people are talking about it... asking questions... where no questions existed before...
Open Question: A question for Moms...
I was talking with a few Moms with young children today. Do you think Palin is a good choice for VP with all she has on her plate? My husband and I made a choice for me to stay home for the first two years of my child's life. We gave up vacations, going out to eat and tightened up our budgets to do so. I personally don't see how a mother with a 6 month old special needs child will be able to handle being VP. If something were to happen to McCain would she be able to handle it. I am not being sexist either, I'm being realistic. Being a Mother of a special needs child is all consuming. Inevitably someone will suffer when a mom is stretched too thin. What do you think? How many of you are Mothers that answered the question? Her husband works for the oil industry.I think this is a woman that clearly puts herself first. To me that tells me she lacks judgment. Unless her husband was a stay at home Dad.Indy I am a working Mom but I felt it was more important to be around for my kids durring thier first years. You seem a bit angry. Are you streched a little thin?
Open Question: Sarah Palin - John...
They met one time.....THEY MET ONE TIME... WOW. She has a impress resume don't get me wrong but can she really run the whole country if McCain goes down. I'm watching CNN and all the female corresponds are practically glowing at the fact a women could become vice president or maybe the president if McCain health don't hold up. And she's beautiful gees. McCain and Palin ticket will win this election because of womens vote wanting to see a female doing big thing and women dislike of Obama because he beat Clinton. THIS IS MOSTLY TO GET WOMEN VOTE... PERIOD. What do y'all think ?
Open Question: Is McCain's VP pick a...
Some have claimed it is a hail mary. That McCain considered Biden being picked an equalizer on national security, so he's trying to bring together demographics, conservatives, plus disaffected clinton supporters, and women in general. How do you see his VP pick working out? Including the VP debate?

Open Question: My father... under the...
My father, unfortunately, lost his job in JuneMy father, lost his company under the bush administration and a republican system of economicsMy father for pretty much 20 years owned his own cabinet making business, but it wasn't until 2003 he started having serious financial trouble. My father never saw any aid from the republicans who said they support small businessIn factMy father got his income, business, and federal taxes raised under the current republican fiscal economy. My father never saw a single cent in subsidies either.Due to the bush administrations play on economics, the same one John McCain endoreses and plans to continue to keep going, could not sustain enough money to keep his business running even though he worked long days, and for a long time 6 days a week.During this my father needed 2 total knee replacements due to his strenuous work.My father got no healthcare help from his government, and was given next to nothing from his government and absolutely nothing from his self owned business while recovering. Now my father is trying to file for unemployment. It has been 2 months and he hasn't even been told whether he has been accepted or not. Why? Because my father is one of the 10s of thousands who lost there job this year. Assets have gone down. Apparently blowing up iraqis is more important than my father and his family meeting their economic needs.Maybe this can help you McCain fanatics.Maybe now you can understand what this current system of economy has done. Now you can see the damage that has been dealt. And realize now that if McCain is elected the damage will only continue. My father is a proud smart man (posibly the smartest man i know) and probably a bit ashamed of filing for unemployment, and despite how hard he tries cannot get a decent paying job because there are not enough jobs out there. Maybe this is because the big business owners the top 5% McCain hopes to "spread their wealth" to the other 95% decided to outsource and cheat instead of giving Americans jobs. Now do you see.McCain isn't trying to help you.McCain won't save you.McCain won't give you a job,And he definitely won't financially help you.He is not interested your needs. He is not interested in fixing the problem. He is narrow minded and believes problems will work them self out because he has no clue what to do.He has no plan.He is the wrong choice. In the words of Obama, "John McCain voted the same on issues as George Bush 90% of the time. I'm not taking a 10% chance on change!"To the person who said i don't rely on my government. My father is not asking for money, he is asking for a better economy where his business could have had a chance. To i love god and my country. LOL at saying we're not in a recession. I'm litterally ROFLMAO over what you said. You know, because you obviously know more than every economist out there. Our economy is in the deficit. If you think that is so, explain inflation, explain the decrease in the value of the dollar, explain the sudden increase in lost jobs, explain poverty, explain my fathers current situation. Please i dare you to, explain. Explain to me and everyone in this thread exactly why.By the way the above quote is paraphrasedI find it funny that McCain and many other republicans say we can't leave until we've won. I don't understand, what is winning? I haven't seen many goals, and i haven't seen any goals that can be truly met. We can take out so many troops and cut so much funding, and have less Americans die, and then finally it won't be a war and finally be a solution. I remember one time i was watching 60 minutes with my father and the commemoration of soldiers that died this week came on. He let out a sigh and said. "Is it really that hard to throw a press conference and simply say we have met all our goals and have won. I don't care what goals they've met, just get us out."
Open Question: Sarah Palin For Vice...
Anyone else ecstatic about her for McCain's VP?! I AM!She is AMAZING! She is the perfect choice, no one saw it coming! She has so much experience!and Osama, ahem, Obama is cowering in fear! AND Did anyone see his set for his speech Thursday evening? Yeah, he thinks hes a Greek god or something, he spent so much money on that, OUR tax money! the asshole. I bet you his favorite possession is his mirror. He can take his Dumbo Ears and fly to France! Anyway, Palin! She didnt wanna get an abortion when she found out her FIFTH child had DOWN SYNDROME! But the liberals think that those babies are defective and should be painfully slaughtered! Well PALIN DOESNT KILL BABIES!! hopefully abortion will be illegal!Im so happy for mccain and proud of his decision!MCCAIN/PALIN 2008!Obama WHO?Uhmmm, she has 2 years as governer and helped the economy in Alaska emensely and:Obama is a jerk. he supports abortion. he claims hes a chritian yet, he wants to kill unborn babies! What if he were and aborted child. OH wait, then this world would be in a better state.I wish people would just see everyone as equals, black people arent better than white, whites arent better than blacks, YET Obama hesitates to admit he is half white.OH the woman leading most of the Hillary Clinton Deligates came out and said that they were voting for McCain/Palin! So watch the news.I live in NY and unfortunately most people here are obama supporters.and YES i still am doing that Obama Osama Joke. Its uncanny how he wants to make friends with the terrorists and his name is quite similar to that of Osamas.Yeah! 5 kids, not four, not 3 not 2 not 1, wanna know why? because she didnt ABORT THEm. She didnt have partial birth abortion, stabbing a pair of scissors into the back of an unborn babies head and the sucking out the poor helpless things brains. wanna know why? because she isnt evil.Obama is evil.
Open Question: Democrats: Do you...
I have to give McCain credit in that he caught practically everyone off guard, but I really think this may be the smoking gun that ends his chances of getting the White House. After spending every waking moment of his campaign criticizing Obama's lack of experience, he chooses someone with even less experience. Here is her résumé:-City Council Member of Wasilla, AK from 1992-1996-Mayor of Wasilla, AK from 1996-2002-Governor of Alaska from 2006-PresentI'm not saying I dislike the woman. Even as an Obama supporter, I find the woman to be very charismatic and very well qualified....to be a governor. What I hope voters consider come election day is that this is a woman who is by no means ready to run the United States. Given McCain's age and health issues, that thought should cross ones mind even more vividly. I think Palin is a very pretty lady with a lot to offer this country...but i don't see her as a Vice President. Not yet.So, questions for Democrats: Do you feel threatened by McCain's choice? I personally felt a sense of relief when he announced his decision because while it looks good on the surface, it's an awful idea in the long run that could very well cost McCain this election.Thoughts?
Open Question: Isn't it clear now,...
All of a sudden, McCain picks a Vogue darling with zero foreign experience (she even admitted, "I don't know nothing about Iraq") and the Right-Wing media harping on her like the Last Alaska Virgin. Too funny. What happened to 'Having Experience" ?? Oh, I get it.... it's okay for a Conservative to not have foreign experience but for a Democrat to not have it, is a bad thing? What a joke.Isn't foreign affairs a strong suit for the Conservative Republicans? Why is Sarah Palin lacking it? Isn't it like a Rite Of Passage for Conservatives to have that credential (foreign clout).... and the Right-Wing media justifies attacking Obama??? This is why McCain and the Republican Party will lose by a landslide. Americans have seen through the Right-Wing media B.S.Sean Hannity is a lame idiot, too. He cited Palin, so-called, executive experience (which is nothing more than being a Governor over a state that doesn't even need a Governor really). One of her latest accomplishments as a Governor was sending a $1,200 rebate to her constituents for low gas prices. How easy would that have been for a Governor of say....New York or Texas or California to pass something like that? I bet Ms. Hockey Mom never met a difficult challenge the whole year and a half as Governor. Not even while Major of Wallisa; governing over 7,000 citizens. What a farce. This gotta be the most ridiculous reporting by the Right-Wing media; hyping this darling for something she's seriously not prepared for.McCain is 72, idiots. Not 47. I'm speaking as an American Voter....chances are real, McCain can die in office and this Palin darling is ready to step right in with ZERO foreign experience? And the Right-Wing Media promote this crap!? Good Lord! You know what..........Obama/Biden 08!! ( Believe It )P.S. (By a landslide)
Open Question: Would it have been...
and now she has picked a MOM do commie dems see why McCain is GOD?
Open Question: I didn't see it...
She's witty, smart, ethical, economical, dedicated to her husband, family oriented, grounded, hunts, fishes, values human life! WOW! What a gold mine President McCain has found in Alaska!!!

Open Question: Why is everyone making...
I dont live in America but I have heard that McCain picked Sarah Palin to be his VP.Now I see people making huge deals out of her being a women, and people saying that he only picked her to get the womens votes, now personally I dont support McCain but would people be saying the same things if he had picked a man?
Open Question: As a 'foreigner' [...
As a Scotsman, living in New Zealand, I'm shocked at the lack of quality for president [ I felt the same with Bush v. Gore ], surely U.S. has better to offer ! Having said that I would, reluctantly pick McCain purely on experience factor.Well, Judith my question was directed at non-Americans. As one I don't know what 'quality' U.S. politics has. I have been impressed by Condoleeza Rice and Hilary Clinton, I'm sure there must be better than 'bluster' Bush and 'fluff' Bill Clinton as i do see quality in U.S. in business, sport, technology, etc. Overseas Kevin Rudd, Helen Clark, even Putin and Brown appear to have thoughtful insight, intelligence a calmness and considered approach, etc. i merely express surprise at a dearth of these qualities in recent presidential candidates, oh Rudi Guiliano impressed me too, post 9/11.
Open Question: Did Palin Really Fight...
Would you continue state funding for the proposed Knik Arm and Gravina Island bridges?Yes. I would like to see Alaska's infrastructure projects built sooner rather than later. The window is now--while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist.http://blogs.tnr.com/tnr/blogs/the_plank/archive/2008/08/29/did-palin-really-fight-the-bridge-to-nowhere.aspx

Open Question: Isn't John McCain the...
Last night McCain selected Sarah Palin as his running mate. And due to my tendency to judge candidates on their environmental record, McCain is definitely a no-no for me. He has been pushing for drilling in the ANWR as part of his big energy plan - Sarah Palin is the Governor of Alaska and would love to see a pipeline right across her state. Mr McCain has been supporting Big Oil of late, a drastic change from several years back when he was an advocate for the environment. So, is he another big liar like......?
Open Question: A Specific Question...
I almost completely understand what the electoral college is and how it works. However, there is one thing I don't quite get that I'm hopeful could be clarified here. When a U.S. citizen casts its vote for a general election candidate, it is in reality voting for the electors that are pledged to that candidate. However, quite contradictorally (is that a word?), a presidential candidate wins a state and gets ALL of its electors. The electors of that state can choose to vote for any candidate, even if the elector did not previously pledge for that candidate. Can you see the contradiction there? Electors are pledged to vote for a certain candidate. So, in 2008, McCain will have 21 pledged electors and Obama 21 pledged electors each in Pennsylvania. So, that means the state has 42 electors! If PA has 42 electors, then why will the winner of the state receive only 21 electoral votes if he (McCain or Obama) is supposed to win all (42) of the state's (PA) electors? In addition, if there are only 21 electors in PA, then how can we be assured that the electors will vote for the candidate to which they are pledged, especially considering that many of the electors are partisan party activists. For example, if Ed Rendall is an elector, and McCain wins PA, it would not be too far fetched to fathom that Rendall would still cast his electoral vote for Obama. If the majority of PA electors happen to be, let's say, very partisan Democrats, how can it be assured that they will cast their electoral votes for McCain, assuming he wins PA? Does this make any sense?Thank you for answering.....As you can see, I'm a little confused.
