I would appreciate it if you could help out with my brother's fifth grade science questions about weather. I'm in eighth grade and can't seem to help him. XD1. What are two major weather factors that determine climate?2. What kind of climate would you expect to find in areas between the equator and poles?3. What are the effects of a rain shadow on a mountain range?4. Does wind speed change as a weather front moves into an area? If so, how?Sam has a wind vane on top of his house. This afternoon he noticed that the wind, which had been blowing from the west, changed direction and started blowing from the north. Sam went inside and looked at his barometer. He noticed that the pressure was rising.5. What weather predictions can Sam make? Thanks in advance!

Resolved Question: Affordability of...
My cousin and I have a major disagreement going on with the amount of kids a person should have. She says that as long as she can "afford" it, she'll keep having them. She currently has 3 and wants at least 2 more. I also should mention that she's not married but is living with her bf of a year or so.My view on affordability of kids is not just in the short term but in the long run. When I think of being able to afford having children, I'm factoring in college, extra activities (music lessons, etc), adequate life insurance and so forth. My cousin says that she lives in the "here and now" and will worry about college and stuff like that later on.So I'm curious to know the views of others out there. When you think about having more children are you a "long term planner" or more of a "here and now" type person?
Voting Question: I want to get a new...
I currently own a Sony DSC-F707 camera and I am extremely happy with the service I have gotten from it. I'm now at the point where I like to upgrade to a new DSLR.I have looked at several but the one feature I would love to have on them is missing on all the ones I've checked out. I never thought the ability to have a viewer at up to 90 degrees off the lens would be so important to me but having the ability to see what I'm taking pictures of when I raise the camera over other people or close to the ground without actually having to lay down on the floor is now a major factor in making my decision. Is there any good DSLR that has a rotating digital display available? I'm specifically looking for a 10MP or better camera.

Resolved Question: What University do...
I usually ask people which college should I go to. This time I will tell more about myself, and for you to pick one to three colleges and state why should I go there. I would like the pros's and con's of your University you pick. I am a journalist and an actor. I have been acting since I was 6, and acting is my passion. I have been in more than 25 plays, and the past 3-4 years, have broken into the tv/film buisness. I had an agent in ATL for 2 years (Ford Models), but they recently closed there ATL office. I also have an agent in Nashville for 2 years, but haven't gotten an audition. I am currently looking for an agent. I want to go to college to act in tv/film more than theater. I do not enjoy theater like I use to. I cannot sing or dance. I am a terrible singer, though I am in Chorus. People stare at me, sometimes. I also love journalism! It is more of an back up career, but is a passion. I want to be a cultural/critc journalist. I would love to work at The New York Times to The Rolling Stone Magazine. I can also see myself working at Variety. I want to double major in Acting and Journalism. I also do some print modeling, so it should not be in the country. I want you to come up with your college, instead of myself telling you. I am 14, but am planning on skipping my last two years of HS. I might not take Drama, instead I might take Chorus. It is up to the HS, but if I don't take Drama, will it lessen my chances for Acting. I am also smart, I get all A's and a B. My GPA in the 8th Grade is a 3.8. I live in GA for the past four years, but I grew up in the suburbs of Florida. I hate GA, because I have no family here. I am planning to be on the swim team, so I can get a swimming scholarship. I am getting really good! Money is a small factor, because I have to get a scholarship... I would prefer L.A. or NY for college. I have to get both Acting and Journalism in my college. So, what college do you suggest? Thanks!I am a guy, an actor!

Resolved Question: toilet problem?
I am(ok we) are thinking of replacing our down stairs toilet. It has a tendancy to clog and back up very easy. We are not flushing anything weird down it and not using excessive toilet paper. We are not on a septic system. I noticed on home depots website that toilet bowls and toilet tanks are sold seperately. For our problem should we replace the bowl, the tank or both? I don't know what the major factor here is. The upstairs toilet works just fine. I'm not calling a plummer, my husband knows how to instal a toilet.like I said I'm not calling a plumber. the toilet needs to be replaced anyway.toilet has been snaked. I just talked to him on the phone(hes at work) he thinks something is actuallt stuck in the S bend, like a toy or something. Hes going to pull it off the floor and check that first. Thanks for the suggestions.

When i decided to buy either a ps3 or a 360 i knew that ps3 was better, however everyone else had a 360 so i bought that for multiplayer purposes.Id still quite like a ps3 as even if it wasnt as good id prefer to give the evil sony my money than the pathetic and evil microsoft.i would really like to get rainbow 6 on the 360 but thinking about just waiting til i buy my ps3, but as i was wanting to buy the ps3 when rockband or the new FF came out im not too sure.Since we all know taht the disk scratching problem of the 360 is a major bonus for ps3 along with every single factor bar game issue speed.I was just wondering if the ps3 live has gotten better yet, i hope its still free but also they have fixed that whole end the game to send a message thing which would annoy me greatly and how the online play compares to 360.(sorry its a long rant)just to add the message problem is mainly for inviting people to games, should my firends ever see the light and buy the lessor of two evils.I like ps3 for blueray aswell but they are still abit costly so i am fighting the urge until like dvds they feel the plummet from £25 each to 3 for £20Also curious about the res of ps3 as unlike the 360 the ps3 can actually support HD res not just upscale, but alot of games seem to only show res up to 720p not 1080i or 1080p

Resolved Question: I just took the AP...
Mostly on my essays is where I messed up on. I did good on my DBQ but my frqs... My first frq was about analyzing the social and economic challenges that were faced from 1945-1989 in Western Europe. I just listed world war 2 affected it, so did the cold war, women began to get rights such as voting, there were student revolts in France, and Germany was split in two.I thought I did horrible on that FRQ and I looked at the next one which was finding the major factors of anti semitism in the nineteenth century. The first word that came to my mind is "hate against the jews" but I also remembered my friend saying awhile back that anti semitism was the act of hating a certain group of people. So I used Social Darwinism, Imperialism, and Nationalism as my arguements.I stepped out of the room and I told my friend about the essays and then hes like "Dude you just failed that essay about anti-semitism."So my question is, did I really fail the National exam? Were my essays wrong?

my friend is selling one that he fixed up for $4500 and its right when I need a new car. It has a little under 100K miles. He bought it for a 1K with a broken axle and a few other minor damages that he fixed up. Blue book has it lowest value for the car at $4800, so assuming its fixed up well, I'm getting a very good deal. I want something very reliable and good on gas. I would also love a car thats fun to drive and has a nice interior. I'm not really looking to race or anything, so I dont need speed. i really like the rally type cars like this and it seems like its perfect for me. The only thing that concerns me is its quality and whether or not it will break down a lot. I recently owned a GM car and it was a very frustrating experience owning it due to its lack of reliability, so this is a major decision-making factor.

Open Question: Dilemma Over Fertility...
I've been researching wikipedia concerning rates of population expansion (just out of curiosity) and I've looked at a few countries, China, Chile, Brazil, Turkey....and the values for these countries is less than 2 children born/woman.Now, I'm thinking that, logically a woman would need to have at least 2 children to replace herself and her husband in that country. These countries I've mentioned and many others like them also don't have many, if very few immigrants coming into the country every year, to say that the population is rising because of that.So then, how come the population of these countries is rising at quite a steady fast pace ???Is it all explained by just the increase in life expectancy, better healthcare, etc. ?? Or are there any major factors at work ??Thank you for your answers.what about long term ?will the figures go down in 30-40 years assuming that life-expectancy is still limited...even with newer technologies and discoveries....

My HS is doing Beauty and the Beast. I want to audition for the Beast. Minor problem. I'm physically disabled. I have a slight limp when I walk. I figured this wasn't a big deal, since the Beast is a monster, and maybe limping would add the extra "wow" factor to the monster. You know?My main question is the dance. I can do simple stuff, (like the dance scene in the show I can do no problem. But something like.. A Chorus Line-forget it.) I've seen the show twice, and don't recall any major dancing. Is there? So I have to ask: would someone like me, a soon to be junior in high school-be able to get the part of the Beast even with my disability. Also: we are going to be asked to sing a song from the show-any ideas? I'm a tenor.

Christians, feel free to disagree, but from studying your religion, I see two major components: guilt and fear."Christ died for us"- the concept that perfection was destroyed for YOU, the "imperfect" is clearly meant to guilt us into believing. Only an ungrateful, immoral person wouldn't feel guilty at such an accusation...fear of Hell seems to be another major factor. Fear of Hell leads us to "accept Christ's sacrifice" as much as guilt does (we feel guilty that perfection was sacrificed, and we are afraid of what happens if we don't accept the sacrifice). In this way, Christians are forced to believe a good afterlife must come through Christ. That bottlegate leads to many other moral values forced upon the Christian, in the name of Christ.Feel free to disagree, but doesn't Christianity base itself over fear and guilt?

I want to know more about Corso d'Italia, a neighbourhood in Toronto. I'm interested to know what type of residents live in the area, such as the majority of the ages and their economic status, and if it's a wealthy or a poor neighborhood. in addition to that, i would like to know the type of factors that contribute to these characteristics. (for example, are there more old age homes/schools in the area because there is a higher ratio of residents that are of an older or very young age?) what are major types of businesses in the area contributing to their economic status?about italian culture in general...i know many people that live in the area are italians, so from an italian culture, I want to know what is valued highly in their culture (such as wealth), what is accepted or not accepted, the types of traditions they have, and if religion is very important...etc.any input of the italian culture is great or possibly sites you would recommend would help greatlythanks

Resolved Question: Relationship...
Ok, to make things short and to the point here is the scenario:I have been dating this girl for about 9 months. We just recently broke up due to the fact that I'm 30 and she is 24yrs old. There is an obvious age gap however for the first six months we were always together and everything was going great. I knew in the back of my head though to be careful because of the age. For the past three weeks she has been going through major life changes, first career job, new car, and trying to finish her master’s degree. Basically we broke up the other day because she feels she is not ready for what I'm ready for. I have been really unhappy lately because I feel she has been distant from me and without communicating her feelings. My questions is this, I love this girl with all my heart I want to marry her eventually however timing is not right. I believe she is in love with me and loves me deeply. It hurts me that timing plays such a crucial factor on a relationship. Being a friend hurts!

i'm currently attending UCR as a business major but i got into UCSD as an econ major (transferring); however, i'm not sure whats better econ or business and if going to a better name college makes a difference when finding a job and getting into grad school (going for MBA). I have a 3.8+ gpa at UCR and i'm thinking it will probably drop if i go to UCSD, would that be a factor? also what is econometrics? is that hard? i've never really heard of itAlso, does being in a better named school give you more of an advantage in getting into grad school and getting a job?
Resolved Question: Porn on the...
OK..... I enjoy a bit of porn from time to time... and now its free.. direct to my home... I dont even have to get it wrapped in brown paper or stuff it under my jumper.. or hide it on the top shelf of my wardrobe where she can't reach it! All I gotta do is clear my history page every time. But I don't get what all the fuss is about. Apparently divorce lawyers are increasingly citing "web porn addiction" as a major factor in around 50% of the divorces that Solicitors milk and cream..... And it's not a small number of us ... apparently 88% of the viewers of porn are men.... and last month around 2.34 million hits in Australia were all visiting online porn sites... so it's a mighty popular past-time for regular guys... not just sex starved basement dwellers. (The population of Australia is around 20 million). So what's up wth that anyway.

I hope to attend law school when I finish my undergrad degree. I'm double majoring but I have a fairly low GPA (3.0). I'm entering into my third year and plan on bringing my GPA up as much as possible but I was wondering if law schools factor in how difficult your undergraduate school was?Basically I want know if undergraduates from schools like Brown or the University of Michigan are ranked on the same platform as a smaller school that is much easier to get into (as an undegrad)...

Story Tools: E-MAIL | PRINT | Text Size: S M L XL | REPORT TYPO | SEND YOUR FEEDBACKVancouver crowned break-in capital of North AmericaLast Updated: Friday, December 14, 2007 | 2:49 PM ET CBC News A new report has given Vancouver a dubious honour: the highest break-in rate of all major Canadian and American cities, nearly four times that of New York City.Last year, Vancouver recorded more than 1,100 break-ins per 100,000 residents while New York City had just over 300.The numbers are contained in the annual report by the B.C. Progress Board, which showed Vancouver had the second-highest combined violent and property crime rate among all major cities in Canada and the United States. The annual report, which tracks a wide range of statistics on everything from exports to cancer rates to crime, and then ranks the province and Vancouver against other provinces, states and cities, has since 2001 become known for delivering good news and bad news. After the report's release on Thursday, Health Minister George Abbott noted B.C. once again ranks first for health outcomes in Canada."I'm very pleased by that. We know that British Columbians live longer than just about anyone else on the face of the earth."Fewer British Columbians are obese and fewer adults smoke than in any other Canadian province. And B.C. leads the country in life expectancy. But it's in the area known as 'social condition,' which measures everything from poverty to birth weights, that B.C. falls down with a ninth-place ranking among the 10 provinces.According to the report, the most troubling social indicator was the 17.5 percent of British Columbians living below the low-income threshold, the second-worst ranking in Canada. The report also notes the situation has not improved at all during the past decade. And while crime rates have been improving, B.C. still lags behind the national average in all major categories.Property crime in particular is a problem, NDP solicitor general's critic Mike Farnworth points out."It shows B.C. has the worst rate of property crime in the country. I think it's nothing for this province to be proud of."Despite the fact that crime rates have fallen significantly between 1997 and 2005, B.C. still ranked 60th in a North American comparison. The report blames several factors for B.C.'s above-average crime rateCriminal business organizations involved in the illegal drug trade. Defective and/or deficient childhood development practices. Mental disorder and fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. High numbers of impoverished chronic, repeat offenders addicted to drugs and alcohol. The apparent failure of the criminal justice system to punish offenders. But while Vancouver has high property crime rates, it ranks better on violent crimes with rates below those found among major U.S. cities.Vancouver's violent crime rate of 391 incidents per 100,000 population ranked it eighth, behind top-ranking Quebec at 185 incidents per 100,000 population and ahead of Detroit with 716, said the report.Vancouver ranked eighth on the homicide rate with 2.5 per population, above the national average of 1.9, but less than one-quarter of bottom ranked Detroit

I'm good at everything, and interested in everything, so I have difficulty narrowing down my options. The most important factor would be making real progress. However, I don't know where to look. Is there really that much progress to be made in things like mathematics, science, or psychology? I would like to advance understanding in a certain field. How much left is there to understand?Basically, what field still has a lot of progress to be made? Fields such as mathematics, physics, science, psychology, sociology, and even teaching, fitness, and politics. What field needs the most progress?
