I usually feed my 6 month old kitten a can of Natural Balance Ocean Fish Formula or Tuna with Shrimp once a week. I recently heard that fish is not good in a cat's diet. Is it okay every now and then or not at all? When I'm not feeding her the fish/seafood formulas, she eats the indoor formula which mainly contains chicken and chicken liver and ocean fish. Should I take her off the indoor formula and and switch her to one that contains no fish at all? Also, I was wondering about maybe giving her milk every now and then. Maybe Cat-Sip Real Milk? Does anyone suggest this or give this to their cat? All answers are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Three handsome male dogs are walking down the street when they saw a beautiful, enticing female poodle. The three male dogs fall all over themselves in an effort to be the one to reach her first, but end up arriving infront of her at the same time. The males are speechless before her beauty, the poodle, being aware of her charms and her obvious effect on the three dogs, she tells them, "The first one who can use the words LIVER and CHEESE together in an imaginative sentence can go out with me"The muscular black Lab speaks up quickly and said, "I love liver and cheese!""Oh, that is so lame," said the poodle. She turned to the tall Golden Retriever and asked, "How well can you do?""Uhmm, I hate liver and cheese." the Golden Retriever blurted out."I guess it is hopeless, that's as stale as the Lab's sentence!" She turns to the last of the three dogs, a small but confident Chihuahua, and said, "How about you little guy?"He gives her a smile, a sly wink, turns to the Golden Retriever and Lab, and said, : "LIVER alone, CHEESE mine.":p

Open Question: Great Dane with Diarrhea?

August 19, 2008
posted by admin

Help please. I have a great dane who is now almost 5 months. When we got him, he was perfectly healthy and then he ate probably a dead bird about 2 wks after we got him and that started his diarrhea. Took him to the vet and they gave intravenous jab and Clavulox antibiotics (we didn't give the full course as after a couple of days, he was good) and was pretty good for a week. Following week, vet booked him for his final immunisation (distemper, hep, parvo, kennel cough) and the next day, he had the runs again. Could immu cause it? Waited for a few days but got worse so we took him back to the vet and they then gave more Clavulox for 1 wk 2 tablets a day and Peptosyl. This time, we gave the full course of antibiotics and peptosyl. He was good until a couple of days after the last antibiotics was administered and then back to the runs. Since then, we have searched for help on the internet and have given him yoghurt. Diet have not changed since we got him - a mix of rice, chicken, science hill diet - dry & wet for pups large breed. In the last few days, he was good. We have him on the leash in case he could be eating something he shouldn't have and all foreign stuff have been rulled out. So, why is he getting the runs again? Allergies to Science Hill diet? We have not given him any liver treats or any other treats as we thought that could have been a part culprit. Advise please. Thanks for that Great Dane Lover. Who would think that Science Hill is not good quality considering how expensive and recommended by vets! This is our first purebred so we wanted to do good by him...we'll try your suggestion and see if that works. Just remembered that yesterday lunch we ran out of rice so gave him a little snack of just dry food and he had his runs about 6 hrs later...so that could be the cause. Thanks again

Folk tales often serve to teach or explain. In your view, what does “Coyote and the Buffalo” teach or explain? To begin with, the story “Coyote and the Buffalo” teach us about forgiveness because although coyote ridiculed the buffalo skull, buffalo found it within him to put his fury aside and give coyote a second chance. In addition, the story teaches us that when we are told not to do something we must listen and if we make a promise we must keep our word regardless. For instance: When buffalo handed coyote a young cow, he specifically told him not to kill the young cow and coyote promised him to remember that but eventually he broke his promise because he was tired of eating fat, and he began to long for the sweet marrow-bones and he desired some warm liver. When coyote killed the cow and broke his promise everything seems to go downhill for him. Moreover, Compromising is also learned in this story because the two main characters work out their problem by declaring something the other could benefit from for example: Coyote knew that buffalo wanted to kill young buffalo but his horns were in bad conditions therefore he took the opportunity to make a proposal in which he would make buffalo new horns and in return not get killed.

I had lab tests done a couple weeks ago and ny ALT came back 56 and AST 28. The range for both are 0-40. I also just had liver/gallbladder/pancreas ultrasound to see if there is anything wrong. I still don't know the results.I had a baby two months ago and these enzymes were perfectly normal one or two days after the delivery. I did have a couple glasses of wine a couple days before the test - but i don't drink alcohol as a habit (considering the 10 months with no alcohol at all during pregnancy).Anyone had something similar or have an opinion? Thanks a lot!

I took her to the vet 3 times and the vet told me it was normal for her to sleep so much and walk funny since she was a baby. She was 10 weeks at the time. She is know 14 weeks and can only walk about 2 feet and she gets tired and gives up. This weekend i took her to the vet to get a blood test done. It comes out she is anemic, has low blood sugar, low red blood cells, high white blood cells, one of her lungs dont work, and he liver is damage. I took her back to the lady I bought her from and she is now blaming us for her healthy. She keeps insisting that her "contract" only gives up 7 days for a return. 7 days is not enough!!! It’s not our fault.... How can you actually know in 7 days that there is something wrong with the dog especially when the vet said it was normal? What I was arguing to her about that how can all this be damage in 30 days (that’s how long we had been having her for). She keeps insisting that low blood sugar causes damage to liver and lungs. Is this true? I know for a fact that she sold it to us sick. And what hurts and makes me mad is that I love this puppy and it hurts to see her suffer.

I can feel my friend shaking, while crying fearing death. fearing illness. I do not want my friend defeated. I can see my friend falling into depression, crying, moping around - snapping at people. Not eating. How do I keep my friends hope alive. I just want my friend to smile, to not be depressed all the time. I love my friend. Ok, I am going to list my symptoms, and then my concerns. I am going back to doc on Monday, but meantime, I am having a hard time relaxing with all this stress. Here are my symptoms: Pinching burning pain in upper right quad are of abdominal area. Sometimes midway to belly botton, sometimes higher towards ribs, sometimes outward towards the side a little, heartburn, nausia, extreme bloating, fatigue, belching, depression. I went to doc 2 wks ago and was diag with impacted colon. That resolved in 1 wk. Wen to doc last week for the symptoms above, he said looks like gastritis or possible stomach infection, prescribed Prilosec and said come back in 1 mth, if not better we'll take blood test for H.pylori. It's been over 1 wk since then... did not start the prilosec until yesterday because I had a few days where I felt better. Started prilosec yesterday, now my back is achy.... not sharp pains, just achy... kind of all over. I read this is a side effect of prilosec. I am worried sick what is wrong with me. I'm just ready to know and take the next step. What I have researched tells me it could be one of the following: Gastritis, Indigestion, Ulcer, Gallbladder and Liver. With the symptoms I have described above, what does it "sound" like it "could" be. I want to note that this is not horrific pain, but dull pinchy burning, aching sort of pains,... they are all in the same exact spots everytime. Also, I do not know if this matters but it's been pretty consistant for the past 2 wks that I've been dealing with this. The prilosec has been in my system for 1 day, it seems to help a little but not alot. It also says it can take 1-4 days to take full effect. My bowels are normal so far, and are a mid - dark green color.

I received an email from a business partner of one of the political groups I subscribe to. It went into a detailed report on how our kidneys are being bombarded with hazardous things like drugs, alcohol, etc. and claimed this product could do some of the following- a direct quote: "#1: You’ll experience a remarkable improvement in your energy levels! That’s because a clean, well functioning liver demands less energy from your body. That means there’s more energy available for you to do the things you love again!#2: You’ll notice an improvement in your health problems! A well functioning liver removes dangerous cholesterol from your body… helps regulate your blood pressure… helps eliminate toxins that trigger joint and muscle pain… helps keep your brain cells strong and healthy… and much more!#3: You’ll experience healthy, glowing skin! That’s because a worn out liver dumps toxins into your skin so they can be excreted with sweat. These toxins can cause rashes and premature aging. "I'm curious to know if anyone has tried this product or similar ones for cleansing the colon

Open Question: Copper toxicity and...

August 08, 2008
posted by admin

This is a specialty question for professionals or individuals who have experienced heavy metal/copper dumps into the bloodstream. Don't attempt to answer unless you fit the criteria because this is sort of serious and needs to be addressed properly.I am suspected of having copper toxicity and low histamine/overmethylation. Also I am thought to have Pyroluria. I have been to the Carl Pfeiffer Treatment Center in Chicago and they said that I most likely have these conditions based on my previous symptoms and my partial recover after self-treating myself with orthomolecular therapy. I am still awaiting the official diagnosis from hair, blood, and urine analysis, but am still on the nutrient therapy. I think I am having copper dumps from tissue storage sites (probably brain and liver) into my bloodstream. I get like a burning sensation on my skin and anxiety, panic like attacks. My ability to breathe deeply is completely compromised. All I can muster is a short breathe and it seems like I'm not getting enough air to maintain myself. Is this a copper dump? Also, I have read that if you do not properly filter the copper through the kidneys then they just get stored back into your tissues. This only lasts me 5-30 minutes. Is this long enough for the proper elimination or am I just going in circles from storage to bloodstream and back to storage?I really need to get this issue taken care of soon. I'm so sick of my insanity and mood disorders. I just want to get on with my life. Thanks for any experienced response or relevant intelligence on this matter.

im sapposed to go to this website and explain the direct and indirect effects of gh but i have no idea what this evern means can someone exlpain it to me thanksssDirect effects are the result of growth hormone binding its receptor on target cells. Fat cells (adipocytes), for example, have growth hormone receptors, and growth hormone stimulates them to break down triglyceride and supresses their ability to take up and accumulate circulating lipids. Indirect effects are mediated primarily by a insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I), a hormone that is secreted from the liver and other tissues in response to growth hormone. A majority of the growth promoting effects of growth hormone is actually due to IGF-I acting on its target cells. Keeping this distinction in mind, we can discuss two major roles of growth hormone and its minion IGF-I in physiology.
