Resolved Question: has anyone seen this?
what has Obama done?I love this question…. here’s a start:Education:* 1983 Foreign Policy Degree from Columbia,* 1991 Law Degree from Harvard, graduated magna cum laude from Harvard, and he served as the President of the Harvard Law Review, one of the most prestigious student positions in the world.Community Organizer, 1985He sought to improve living conditions in poor neighborhoods plagued with crime and high unemployment* Moved the Chicago Housing Authority to remove asbestos in housing* Established a job-training center* Worked in the streets on voter registration to help elect President Clinton* Registered 150,000 people to voteCivil Rights LawyerMiner, Barnhill & Galland: litigated employment discrimination, housing discrimination, and voting rights cases.* Protecting voters: seccessfully sued state of Illinois for failing to implement a federal voter-registration law.* Successfully defended a whistleblower who lost her job, for a $5 million settlementConstitutional Law professor/lecturer at the University of ChicagoIllinois State Senate 1996 - 2004* Welfare legislation* Created the Earned Income Tax Credit program that gave over $100 million in tax cuts for families throughout Illinois over 3 years.* Expanded early childhood education* Enlisted the support of law enforcement officials to draft legislation requiring the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases.* He passed a law to monitor racial profiling by requiring police to record the race of drivers they stopped. The law was at first very controversial, but due to Obama’s skills as a negotiator and bipartisanships, he won the support of the police. During his 2004 general election campaign for U.S. Senate, he won the endorsement of the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police, whose president credited Obama for his active engagement with police organizations in enacting death penalty reforms. * Pass the toughest campaign finance law in Illinois history. The legislation banned the personal use of campaign money by Illinois legislators and banned most gifts from lobbyists. Worked with U.S. Sen. Paul Simon (D-IL), 1988. Before the law was passed, one organization ranked Illinois worst among 50 states for its campaign finance regulations.* Created a working, affordable health care plan in Illinois, that covers 70,000 kids and 84,000 adults, where all kids qualify for $40 per child. Obama sponsored and passed this legislation, working with Rod R. Blagojevich(IL Gov.) See All Kids http://www.allkids.com/ . His accomplishments include creating a task force on cervical cancer, providing greater access to breast and cervical cancer screenings, and helping improve prenatal and premature birth services.* As a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, Obama passed legislation to improve care and slash red tape for our wounded warriors recovering at places like Walter Reed. Voting Question: Why is the human...
If you ask people why they do the things they do in life, they will give you sensible sounding reasons which seem to explain their decisions. We like to believe that we exercise sound judgement, especially in the important decisions of our lives.I think that this is rarely true. I think that standard operating procedure for human decision making is to do what feels right to you at the time, and then to give logical sounding justifications for what you were already going to do anyway, whether you had justifications or not.So, if you are pregnant, and want to get an abortion, you will be able to give any number of reasonable sounding explanations why this is the right decision. You're not ready to be a parent, or you need to finish your education or get to a better point in your career, or you don't have enough money, etc. If instead you want to keep the baby, you will explain how even though you will have some extra difficulties due to the lack of money or whatever, you will certainly be up to the challenge to make your life work with the baby, how being a parent will be good for you, what a great parent you'll make, how it will bring you and the father closer together, and so on. In either case, none of these will be the real reason for your decision. The real reason for your decision will always be, "I did it because I wanted to do it".This method of decision making may have worked fine earlier in human history. However, in a highly complex technological society, the inevitable result of this is that people behave in extremely stupid ways. For example, the average American household now has $8000 in credit card debt, on which they pay an average of 19% interest. Is there any good reason to be running an $8000 debt? No. Did these people all run into major life crises which forced them to run up huge debts or else become homeless? No, they spent it on furniture, clothing, televisions, etc. Is it logical to spend $1500 a year in credit card interest? Clearly not. People do this because there isn't extra money in the bank, but there is something they want to buy, and the positive feeling they get from the idea of having this item is stronger than the negative feeling they get at the idea of their monthly payment going up by another $20.For example, marijuana is illegal in most of the world, while alcohol is legal, despite the fact that alcohol is a far more dangerous drug than marijuana in every way. People consider marijuana to be a dangerous drug, while they think of alcohol as being a fun beverage. They consider those who sell marijuana to be drug dealers, the scourge of society who should be hunted down and imprisoned, while those who sell alcohol (wine makers, grocery stores) are of course not placed in the same category.Logically speaking, it should be the other way around. Alcohol tends to make many people aggressive, leading to a variety of violent crimes, while marijuana does not. Alcohol is a central nervous system depressant, and leads to a serious loss of coordination and motor skills. At larger doses, alcohol renders one completely unconscious. Drunk drivers cause enormous numbers of automobile accidents and deaths. Marijuana is not a central nervous system depressant, and while one probably shouldn't drive while intoxicated on anything, it simply does not cause anywhere near the loss of motor control that alcohol does, and is only a fraction as dangerous as alcohol in terms of driving. And, a large enough dose of alcohol can and will kill you, while the same is not true of marijuana. But people are looking at this based on their feelings. Marijuana feels like a drug to them. It's illegal, isn't it? Alcohol feels like a fun beverage. It's legal, and socially acceptable, so it feels ok, so it must be ok.All of this is illogical and stupid, and typically human. And I could give countless other examples of this, but I'm sure you can think these up yourself. Just look at how people behave in terms of politics and religion. And, I think that when you see ridiculous and idiotic behavior and decision making in other people(or in yourself), you have to consider it to be the inevitable result of the nature of the human psyche."The only way to comprehend what mathematicians mean by Infinity is to contemplate the extent of human stupidity." - VoltaireWhy cant we change altogether?

Title: The American DreamChasing the American dream and obtaining possessions, still is a dream that shatters into millions of particles. Living the American dream is a long lasting journey to a successful life and having the opportunities to achieve goals. Every enchanted fairytales always have a happily every ending, but not the American Dream. The American Dream it’s like a thousand miles of volcanoes ashes rushing down the mountain of raucous corruption. The life of succeeding has started to fading away as economic, technology, and debt begins to maintain a higher financial problem in the United States. Every day in people life struggling through hardship and trying to break the barriers of depression can led to difficulty. The article called Wealth gap swallows up American Dream by Noelle Knox, a man name Ezequiel Quiroz, a twenty-seven year old tow truck driver says “Sometimes it bothers me that a lot of rich people look at you like you're nothing because you're not driving a BMW or expensive car. They make you feel like you're nothing." The inequity experience Quiroz has indicated the American society has been classified through sexism, judgmental, status, and racial discrimination. The reality of living in the American Dream takes big step to achieve every solution. If I want to earn big I have to work hard in what I do. I hate to say the American dream have to do with money. No matter where you go and what you want. Money can only resolve in the American Dream society. People believe fulfilling the American dream concludes with living like royalty. Our society has lost all of its moral values and the American dream has withered away into a greedy self fulfilling prophecy. Therefore in the U.S. Constitution, it says the Americans are entitled to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". I incessantly see people to pursuit of material prosperity than living a simple life. Yet today people tell me the American Dream is gone because of terrorist threats, political party in fighting, lack of health care, the cost of college tuition, the corporation of government, George Bush, investment, and bank scandals. We are rich in things, but poor in happiness. The dream has becoming a nightmare for us to succeed. I think you have to be asleep to believe the American Dream as the ideal lifestyle. In the article called Two Thirds Feel American Dream Harder to Achieve, by Robert Longley. “Two-thirds of the American people say the American Dream is becoming harder to achieve, especially for young families, and they point to financial insecurity and poor quality public education as the most significant barriers.” People today focus too much of striving themselves to fulfills their duties instead they have forgotten the American Dream have started to fade away. Furthermore poverty have a huge significant issues in the American Dream because it harder for those to achieve mobility. Included, workers are not having an average wages to earn above the official poverty line. The growing gap between the society and the American Dream has become separated for people to reach because of the entire tragic economic and the political issues. The vision of the American Dream needs to manage a better view for people to realize a dream takes decades to form an equal positive living. We have not reach the standard of what makes up the American Dream yet, but we hope the American Dream can set a new beginning for people to step up and take the opportunity to accomplish every purpose. In addition, we still dream on for the next generation and hope to prevent outcomes in the United States. Lastly, the American Dream needs to determine the meaning of life and succeeding the dream of stability.
Resolved Question: Are there college...
Ok, I've always wanted to be a truck driver simply because I love to drive and to be on my own. I teach, and I'm getting tired of it. I would like to know if there are college educated truck drivers out there since I know that truck driving requires very little education. Is it worth it? Is the money good? Compare to teaching. I need all the advice I can get before I broaden my horizons from teaching to truck driving.

Would just admit how PHISSED they will be if McCain/Palin win in 32 days, regardless of all the coverage, all of their mean comments, all the $17,0000 a plate dinner/fund raisers, concerts, celebrity support and backing....if in the end, THE PEOPLE get to pick the president and its not who THEY picked - won't it tickle you a little? I get so tired of hearing about how today "this super celebrity" is going to come out of the wood work and have a special concert or watching David Letterman over step his bounds as a (over) paid celebrity, feel he has the right or the know how, to tell America how to vote - THIS when he got on TV and said (I quote) "i just don't think we should change drivers in the middle of an accident" YES, that was David Lettermans advice during the 2004 election....no! he no longer has any right to discuss politics on his talk show - after his stupid pet tricks segment or his discussion about the weather.i mostly want to see this country really come out and say "thanks, but no thanks, low life celebrity coc heads, who spends your days sleeping, your nights drunk driving, having your rep's drop you off at rehab, make you eat a sandwich or give you a shot of adrenanline to restart your heart after ODing on a speedball.'No thanks to people who can't decide which sex they are attracted to, whether they "really" believe in God...most of whom don't even have a college education, they they don't know what it's like to not have enough money to pay their bills, they consider it a contribution to the world to drive a $26k Toyotal Prius instead of $100K whipped out Escalade (gee thanks!)....won't you be interested (every NORMAL person - regardless of who your backing) in what these celeb's will do if Mccain win's... who do you think will OD first and then blame it on their depression over the election...or move to Germany and live next door to brad and angelina.

for illegals in California. Do even legal immigrants feel illegals have gone too far in this country? Do you believe Arnold even knows they are a strain on the economy?Ahnold did two great things today, he vetoed Driver's licenses for illegals (SB 60 Gil Cedillo) and the Dream Act for illegal aliens (SB 1301 Gil Cedillo). Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger vetoed the California DREAM Act Tuesday night for the second time in two years, once again shutting out undocumented students from state financial aid. The act would have granted undocumented students access to financial aid administered by the UC system, the CSU system and the state's community colleges, including grant, scholarship, work-study and loan programs. Schwarzenegger vetoed an earlier version of the DREAM Act last October. It was first introduced in February by State Sen. Gilbert Cedillo, D-Los Angeles. In his veto message on Tuesday, the governor wrote that it was not appropriate to pass the bill given the condition of the state's economy. "I share the author's goal of making affordable education available to all California students, but given the precarious fiscal condition the state faces at this time, it would not be prudent to place additional demands on our limited financial aid resources as specified in this bill," he stated. http://www.dailycal.org/article/102873/governor_vetoes_california_dream_act

Open Question: could someone please...
know this is really long but please take 5 to read. i really need help, i am so confused!!!!some things that this person did that made me think that he likes me.1st: i would look up in english class and find this person looking at me and when he saw me look up he would look away really quick2nd: he came to talk to me on a few occasions just out of the blue for no reason whatsoever. now, that could have just been him being nice, but judging from the conversations(which were never longer than a minute) it seemed like probably not.3rd: he was in my drivers education class with me. we both had our own group of friends but one day on the driving range my "driving buddy" was not there and i said i would be just fine driving alone but he offered to drive with me. i found this weird because he had plenty of other friends he could have gone with but chose to come and drive with me. when we were in the car he said, "you're a really good driver, i have been watching you and noticed". after about three seconds of silence he said, "nevermind i have not been watching you that is creepy". BUT, i had seen him looking at me so i did not doubt that he had noticed my driving skills and that him taking back what he said was a lie. Now, i may be overanalizing this whole situation but not knowing if these incidents means he likes me, is driving me crazy and i NEED to know. i like this person, just to clarify. i would ask him right out if he likes me or not but i have not seen him in two months and we are not exactly friends. we are more aquantances than friends and i dont want to scare him away by being to forward. i am not sure why i like him so much. it is not very normal to like someone you dont know very well but for some reason i do and i cant explain it. it is just one of those things, sort of like love at first sight. the only problem is he has not replied any of my messages over myspace where i ask how he is doing and how things are going so i dont know if he likes me or not. is he just too shy to reply?? also the other day i walked by him in the hall and he poked my arm and said, "hey,(my name) i have not talked to you in a while" but we were walking opposite directions so i didnt reply the two of us just walked on. does this mean anything or is it just a casual hello. i am confused about this as well because with all the things that have happened i dont know how to tell whether it is casual or him liking me and making an effort to approach me. he has not said one word to me for a month until the other day when (what i just described) happened. he keeps sending me these little messages i cant read and i need HELP!!!! PLEASE!!! the answers to my questions may be obvious and i am just being stupid but i need a second opinion. please help me figure this out!!!

Voting Question: I'm sad and stuck in...
I never thought I would ever make a message like this, but here I go.Lately, I've been feeling really depressed, and have been for a couple months now. I wish I had someone to talk to, but I don't. My girlfriend of 1 year doesn't really want much to do with me, she's content sleeping all day, or on the computer playing games online. Any form of intimacy left the relationship about 8 months ago, if not more. I sometimes try to tell her that I'd like to feel wanted in my relationship, but she never really tries to do anything that makes me feel wanted by her. She would make up excuses or find ways to get out of cuddling with me or something, like telling me to look at how cute our dog is, which is just laying there or something, or getting up to tend to the needs of the ferrets half empty water container, then when she's done, she just goes back to the computer or something. She doesn't work, never really has (she used to work 3 hours a day at a fast food restaurant for a little while, but quit) and never cleans, never makes dinner, never runs errands (doesn't have a drivers license or anything) and she's perfectly content while I struggle to pay bills, and pay her parents a very generous amount for rent. When I mean struggle, I mean, I work hard fabricating cabinet door out of raw steel in 110 degree factory. Which kind of brings me to my next "rut," my job is starting to kill me. I'm allergic to the oil on the steel, it makes my skin flare up really bad and I get a super bad rash that bleeds and stuff, but there's nothing I can really do about it because I dropped out of school when I was 15, so I only have a 9th grade education which is my fault because I was lazy in school and I think I have ADHD because I could never focus, but nobody really knows that, I just tell everyone I got my G.E.D. when I actually didn't and every time I lie about my education I feel depressed. I'm sore all of the time from lifting and 12 hour days and I dropped a piece of raw sheet steel on my leg and cut it pretty bad so it hurts when I walk but wont be so bad when it heals I think. My diet is really bad because I can't afford real meals, and I don't really have the time to make myself stuff ahead of time. So, I've started gaining weight which makes me look weird since I have a small frame and a pot belly now, I don't really eat much but stuff such as ramen and whatever else is cheap, but I'm still always pretty hungry. I really want to go to school because everyone at my local college (University of Iowa) all look really happy and stuff and are probably going to have good jobs once they graduate. I don't think 21 (my current age) is too old to go back to school, but I don't have the time to go to take the classes needed to pass the G.E.D. because if I miss more than 3 days a month of work, I lose my job. Plus, I really don't know what I want to go to school for. I don't even know if I could get any student loans because my credit is pretty bad from all of the small things I couldn't ever pay off, like doctors visits. My family doesn't really keep in contact with me, everyone moved and I don't have their new numbers or where they live and stuff. Even my younger brother (19 this Oct. 3rd) whom I thought was pretty close to me didnt even tell me he was moving until after he did and hasn't talked to me sense, and even when he was on the phone with me he was just talking to everyone in the background. I'm just sad all the time now, and I try to keep my head up and hope its going to get better, but it never does. I got pulled over twice in one day for having expired temp tags on a new car while in another state, and when I went to court (in Scottsdale, AZ) and made a plea of hardship, I was just told to grow and start living in the real world. Now that I live back in IA, and there isn't any decent form of transportation where I live such as a taxi or bus (we have a bus, but I work 2nd shift and it doesn't go on a route that I can use), I always have to walk back and forth to work, and to get groceries, pay bills, etc and I owe my state like 1200 in fines, I even had to do a weekend in jail while I was sick because I didn't show up to court after I got a ticket for violating curfew walking back from work, I didn't know I had court, so I owe money for that too. I absolutely can not find a new job, I've tried so much and I've had a couple interviews, even the local staffing agencies (Temp, and Team Staffing) won't even work with me because I don't have a way to get to and from work. Sometimes I cry, which could be the most unmanly thing ever, but I always feel like I'm being punished for something I did wrong and I don't have a way to correct. I never really feel like killing myself or anything, but sometimes while I'm working I can't help but think that Im just.. dying anyways, and laying in the ground isn't so scary. No, I don't do drugs or drink or anything like that.I'm sorry for my long story, I just wanted to get it out oIf someone could point me in a general direction or something on how to "improve" - that would be good, because I don't know what to do.

Voting Question: Driver's Education...
My dilemma is this: My 17th birthday was on June 20th 2008 (the June that just passed) and I was not able to take my school’s driver’s education course the second half of the school year before my birthday. So now, it has been 6 months since I received my permit, and I am trying to find a class that will enable me to get a full driver’s license NOT A JUNIOR LICENSE and will give me the same benefits as the driver’s education program that my school offers. However… I preferably do not want to spend half of the year taking driver’s education classes. Especially since I’ve already missed the sign-ups for my school’s fall driver’s ed program. As for experience driving, I have taken the 5 hour class at a driving school and I have had 2 private lessons prior to a road test. Though I did not pass my first road test, I am planning to take it again in a month, yet, I am afraid to schedule another road test without taking a course enabling me to get my full license. My school’s assistant principal suggested I take an intensive/defensive driving course of some sort, but I’m not quite sure how that works. I think my real question is... Will the "Defensive Driving Course" give me my FULL license? (After i pass my road test of course)Please, send me some advice. Thank you very much.

My main options are masseuse, writer, or teacher. Which one would be the better choice of the three and why? Are there other similar careers that are more realistic? I'm in tenth grade and get decent grades, usually over a B- with occasional C's. I'm not physically fit and don't have enough money to go to college without a decent sized scholarship. I work at a library right now at 7.25 an hour, four hours a week (only Sundays) and get paid once a month. I also have to pay for car insurance soon, as well as drivers education, and already pay for clothes and toiletries.I already know solely as a writer I'd die. That's why I figured some form of writing on the side would be good... and I'm 15, working on getting in better shape, but I'm healthy, just fat. Resolved Question: Why do you feel...
*EDIT* I have lived in places where the drinking age is lower than in the U.S., if this applies to your country, please refrain from answering the question. I do not want it to encourage young Americans from doing something they shouldn't be doing. If young Americans fight and die for their country they should have the right to drink / purchase alcohol. (That's what many of you think but not me. Since the Vietnam War, there has NOT been a "draft", those soldiers who have enlisted in the U.S. army are volunteers. Meaning they have volunteered to put their lives on the line.I respect those soldiers in the U.S. Army, don't get me wrong. More and more people in America are critical of the wars being waged in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the conditions they fight under are, from what I have hard, less than perfect. But if you lower the drinking age to 18, then you're going to have 14 and 15 year old's trying to get fake IDs. And considering that one can get a driver's license at 16, and considering the rowdyness of many teenagers, whether sober or drunk, it would increase the risk of accidents significantly. College students 18 - 21 should focus on their education which improves their future. Not booze it up and put their lives on the line as well as those of others. When drunk in moderation, alcohol can relax someone, can complement food. But there are many negative side effects.Your thoughts?ps. I did drink while underage and am not proud of it. But if nothing else I saw the destructive behavior that comes about.Great feedback so far, covers much of what I was going to add ..Goodey that's an excellent point because many underage drinkers "binge drink", taking advantage of the lack of adult supervision.Eye : couldn't agree more. I feel that both drinking, and driving (seperately obviously) are things one EARNS the right to do. Not like "you're 18, go get your license" and "you're 21, go get drunk"Brew : 20-21 might not be enough. But as we know there are irresponsible drivers at any age.Adrienne : so was I, as both my parents have lived in several European countries.
Resolved Question: do marijuana laws...
Do people really think in this day and age that a person should have their life ruined simply for possessing and using marijuana? 70% of Americans don't think so. An End to Marijuana ProhibitionThe Drive To Legalize Picks UpBy Ethan Nadelmann. National Review, July 12, 2004. Pp. 28-30.NEVER before have so many Americans supported decriminalizing and even legalizing marijuana. Seventy-two percent say that for simple marijuana possession, people should not be incarcerated but fined: the generally accepted definition of "decriminalization." Even more Americans support making marijuana legal for medical purposes. Support for broader legalization ranges between 25 and 42 percent, depending on how one asks the question. Two of every five Americans-according to a 2003 Zogby poll-say "the government should treat marijuana more or less the same way it treats alcohol: It should regulate it, control it, tax it, and only make it illegal for children."Close to 100 million Americans-including more than half of those between the ages of 18 and 50-have tried marijuana at least once. Military and police recruiters often have no choice but to ignore past marijuana use by job seekers. The public apparently feels the same way about presidential and other political candidates. Al Gore, Bill Bradley, and John Kerry all say they smoked pot in days past. So did Bill Clinton, with his notorious caveat. George W. Bush won’t deny he did. And ever more political, business, religious, intellectual, and other leaders plead guilty as well. The debate over ending marijuana prohibition simmers just below the surface of mainstream politics, crossing ideological and partisan boundaries. Marijuana is no longer the symbol of Sixties rebellion and Seventies permissiveness, and it’s not just liberals and libertarians who say it should be legal, as William F. Buckley Jr. has demonstrated better than anyone. As director of the country’s leading drug-policy-reform organization, I’ve had countless conversations with police and prosecutors, judges and politicians, and hundreds of others who quietly agree that the criminalization of marijuana is costly, foolish, and destructive. What’s most needed now is principled conservative leadership. Buckley has led the way, and New Mexico’s former governor, Gary Johnson, spoke out courageously while in office. How about others?A SYSTEMIC OVERREACTIONMarijuana prohibition is unique among American criminal laws. No other law is both enforced so widely and harshly and yet deemed unnecessary by such a substantial portion of the populace.Police make about 700,000 arrests per year for marijuana offenses. That’s almost the same number as are arrested each year for cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, Ecstasy, and all other illicit drugs combined. Roughly 600,000, or 87 percent, of marijuana arrests are for nothing more than possession of small amounts. Millions of Americans have never been arrested or convicted of any criminal offense except this. Enforcing marijuana laws costs an estimated $10-15 billion in direct costs alone.Punishments range widely across the country, from modest fines to a few days in jail to many years in prison. Prosecutors often contend that no one goes to prison for simple possession-but tens, perhaps hundreds, of thousands of people on probation and parole are locked up each year because their urine tested positive for marijuana or because they were picked up in possession of a joint. Alabama currently locks up people convicted three times of marijuana possession for 15 years to life. There are probably-no firm estimates exist-100,000 Americans behind bars tonight for one marijuana offense or another. And even for those who don’t lose their freedom, simply being arrested can be traumatic and costly. A parent’s marijuana use can be the basis for taking away her children and putting them in foster care.Foreign-born residents of the U.S. can be deported for a marijuana offense no matter how long they have lived in this country, no matter if their children are U.S. citizens, and no matter how long they have been legally employed. More than half the states revoke or suspend driver’s licenses of people arrested for marijuana possession even though they were not driving at the time of arrest. The federal Higher Education Act prohibits student loans to young people convicted of any drug offense; all other criminal offenders remain eligible. This is clearly an overreaction on the part of government. No drug is perfectly safe, and every psychoactive drug can be used in ways that are problematic. The federal government has spent billions of dollars on advertisements and anti-drug programs that preach the dangers of marijuana-that it’s a gateway drug, and addictive in its own right, and dramatically more potent than it used to be, and responsible for all sorts of physical and social diseases as well as international terrorism. But the government has yet to repudiate Read the entire article; The Drive To Legalize Picks UpBy Ethan Nadelmann. National Review, July 12, 2004. Pp. 28-30.Typical conservative scare tactics, cantcu, lol. Like I'm an idiot and couldn't tell if it was "laced". This is what the conservative feed on, ignorance, and they promote it at every opportunity!Chris S, Maybe your friends should take control of their lives and stop blaming weed for their situation, tell them to assert their will, and quit pot if it is so bad for them. I have asserted my will and quit tobacco and alcohol because they have done me no good!Yes Chris S, I am much like you in that respect. You personally know several marijuana addicts so i assumed they were your friends. Willpower works if you have it , but if you are weak and can't take control of your life then you need help. I am not trying to insult anyone , just expressing my opinion like everyone else here."Dope smokers" continue to smoke "it" because the benefits outweigh the risks.Beside that it is the peoples will that is being ignored by the federal government, see http://www.mayflowerunlimited.com/marijuana.htmhttp://www.mpp.org/news/press-releases/barney-frank-introduces-bold-r.html

Voting Question: What does Child...
I am new to all of this but I have a serious question to ask. My son is going to be 16 in 2 months and of course is beginning to drive. I am on the flip side of most of these questions because I am the mother and his father is the primary custodian. We divorced 10 years ago and I have paid my child support all of those years with out ever missing a beat. During this time I have also paid half of all medical expenses, offered to add my son to my medical insurance because I have lower premiums as well as lower deductibles, and co-pays. My ex-husband refused to change him to my insurance, therefore we continue to pay more than we need too for medical costs. Recently my son had surgery and the bills just came in and I had to pay over $300.00 in medical bills. If my son had been on my insurance the entire cost of the surgery would have been $25.00 for each of us. No co-pays or anything. Now to get to my real question at hand. Over the years I have coughed up money for camp, soccer, baseball, tennis, piano lessons, day care and so much more I can't even think. I had remarried and was able to help out with these expenses. I recently got divorced for the second time, no children in this marriage, and now live alone and solely provide for myself as well as pay the allotted amount ordered by the court. Times are tight and fuel costs are astronomical. I work at an ok job with good benefits but the pay isn't great. I make ends meet barely and most of the time don't even have food in my own home! Just yesterday I received an email from my son's father telling me that my son will soon be enrolled in Driver's Education. The cost for this is $500.00. He told me he needs me to pay for half of this by October 20th. Then in the next sentence he told me that he also needs to add my son to his vehicle insurance policy and wants me to pay him another $165.00 per year for that. I also need to add my son to my policy for him to drive when he is with me. Shouldn't my child support payments cover these costs? Please I really need some help with this. I am at my witts end. I just can't keep paying like this anymore if I am going to continue to be able to live.

I'm about to turn 15 and i was wondering if that would qualify me to start taking drivers education classes. I know in WI you have to be 15 1/2 to get your learners permit. Once i turn 15 (in january) can i start right away?
Resolved Question: Help with Work...
My job is really bothering me. I'm part of management, but not a manager and I see so much mismanagement it's driving me crazy. There is absolutely no discipline. None! No attendance policy enforced, no break times enforced. I see people hanging out all day stealing OT. Drivers taking 10 hours for 3 stops. Another driver takes 12 hours every day regardless if he has 5 or 15 stops. Guys are at their house, the gym, etc. None of these people ever get confronted about anything they do. It's been going on for years. The managers do nothing about it. It's like a free for all. Everyone just takes and does what every they want without any recourse. Several supervisors have come in, but soon leave because if this situation. I can't leave because it's my job. Should I shoot random emails or snail mail to the regional managers? I'm a college graduate and none of the managers are. I don't think that they know what they are doing. Isn't it supposed to be a business? People actually by shares of my company on the NYSE. I'm embarrassed to be a part of this debacle. Everyone says they all deserve to lose their jobs, so they fired the operations manager and brought in a new guy with no education and he doesn't have a clue. How does a guy with no education get a 100,000 dollar job? I'm taking any and all advice. Should I just join the party and steal OT as well, like everyone else? No one would ever say a word to me. Help.
Voting Question: What do you think...
I've graduated high school, and I'll be 17 in December. I'm really good with computers and graphic design (I use Adobe Photoshop 6.0).I have an anxiety disorder which prevents me from being able to function normally at a job.I tried working at a family restaurant, but broke down into tears in 2 hours.I've recently purchased a car, under the circumstances that I find a job in 10 days or less after I get my driver's license.I have my permit, and I'm in driver's ed.I'm worried that I'm not going to be able to find a job and will have ruined my dad's credit and trust (he can't afford the payments alone).I'm going to take some college courses and earn my Associates' Degree in Graphic Design.Do you think it's a stupid idea to go ahead and try to get started making money without all of the education?-- I have viewed a few portfolios of some designers, and actually think I could do a better job.Plus, there are tons of tutorials online.I apologize for so many details, but I'm just trying to figure this out. I would GREATLY appreciate *any* suggestions or opinions. Thank you so much.

Open Question: I think my 6 yr old...
My 6 yr old son has always been a real "handful". The past 2 years, though, have been a total nightmare. He is now in grade 1, and in the 2 yrs of kindergarden classes, I cannot even begin to count the # of times he was sent home because of disruptiveness, fighting, inability to sit still... We have been keeping a list of things we have noticed about our son. I have a day planner I use to jot down everytime he has a "freak out" (our term for a total meltdown and rage incident). Here are some of the things we have noticed. very easily frustrated-Has trouble with friendships because he NEEDS to be in control-Highly emotional- cries if you even look at him "wrong"-Says he thinks he's an a-s-s hole, stupid, and that he thinks everyone thinks he's an idiot-Really argumentative- if you say the s
